Summary:HII Mission Technologies is seeking a
Senior Product Strategy Specialist to support the development of product strategy and investment recommendations across the Mission Technologies division. This role will directly report to the Director of Product Strategy as the second hire in Mission Technologies' new Product Strategy function. Working at the intersection of engineering, product management, sales, and executive leadership, you will translate warfighter needs, mission gaps, and acquisition signals into clear product concepts and investment-ready business cases.
You will co-develop mid-to-long-term product roadmaps, conduct rigorous investment analyses, and shape strategic partnerships across industry, government, and academia to accelerate product evolution within the division. As an all-around athlete, you'll toggle between deep-dive analyses and executive-level synthesis, tackling ambiguous, cross-functional programs that drive high-stakes decisions for the portfolio.
This role is a great fit for individuals in strategy and finance roles who are looking to pivot into more product-focused spaces. You'll have direct exposure to high-stakes decisions, strategic projects, and visibility with executive leadership inside the division and across the company as a key part of one of Mission Technologies' most strategic initiatives.
Why this role:• Founding team member: Shape a new function from the ground up with high visibility and executive access
• Consulting skills + product ownership: Blend strategic thinking with tangible product outcomes
• Mission impact: Drive national security capabilities that matter
• Career growth: As the function scales, gain opportunities to build and lead a team

• Translate capability needs into product definitions: Partner with business groups, the CGO, and CTO/Products and Innovation to distill warfighter needs, capability gaps, and emerging DoD requirements into clear product definitions, MVP scopes, and prioritized roadmap inputs aligned with business objectives.
• Co-develop product roadmaps: Drive the creation and iteration of mid-to-long-term product roadmaps for Mission Technologies, incorporating market trends, technology maturity, investment priorities, and strategic pivots. Ensure roadmaps are actionable and defensible to executive stakeholders.
• Shape portfolio strategy: Recommend portfolio actions-invest, pivot, sustain, or sunset-grounded in data, financial modeling, and clearly articulated assumptions. Present recommendations to division and corporate leadership with supporting analysis and rationale.
• Build and execute strategic partnerships: Identify, prioritize, and help structure partnerships across industry, government, and academia in coordination with MT executive leadership. Lead stakeholder engagement to negotiate mutually beneficial agreements that advance product strategy and divisional growth objectives.
