Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced PACS Analyst to join our dynamic IT team and play a critical role in the support, maintenance, and optimization of our Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and related medical imaging applications. This position requires a strong blend of clinical workflow understanding, technical IT expertise, and direct experience with various radiology and imaging technologies. The ideal candidate will ensure the seamless operation of our imaging systems, contribute to improved patient care, and provide expert-level support to our clinical users.

Key Responsibilities for team:
  • System Support & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support for PACS and integrated imaging systems, diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues reported by radiologists, technologists, and other clinical staff. This includes hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
  • Maintenance & Monitoring: Perform routine system maintenance, monitoring of system performance, storage utilization, and data integrity checks to ensure optimal operation and proactive identification of potential issues.
  • Workflow Optimization: Collaborate closely with physicians, technologists, and other clinical stakeholders to understand their workflow needs, identify areas for improvement, and configure PACS and imaging applications to enhance efficiency and clinical effectiveness.
  • Application Testing: Conduct thorough testing of new systems, system upgrades, patches, and integrations (UAT, functional testing) before deployment to ensure stability and functionality.
  • Interface Management: Assist in the support, testing, and troubleshooting of interfaces, ensuring smooth and accurate data exchange between PACS, EMRs, modalities, and other systems using standards such as HL7, DICOM, and XDS.
  • Documentation & Training: Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of system configurations, support procedures, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals. Assist in training end-users on PACS and imaging application functionalities.
  • On-Call Support: Participate actively in an after-hours on-call rotation to provide timely support for critical system issues, ensuring 24/7 operational continuity.
  • Project Participation: Contribute to IT projects related to imaging system upgrades, migrations, new implementations, and technology evaluations.
  • Vendor Communication: Liaise with vendors for support, issue escalation, and system enhancements.


Job Responsibility
  • Supports various financial systems within the portfolio, following the support model, while providing excellent customer service to all customers and end users.
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots production problems; escalates issues and executes solutions.
  • Works as a project / product lead on larger, more complex projects and/or on multiple projects and solutions.
  • Collaborates with multiple product teams and solution teams, IT and Business Product Managers, IT Business
  • Solutions Leads, and other key stakeholders.
  • Implements or enhances systems, following the software and solution delivery lifecycle and hybrid project management methods.
  • Maintains direct responsibility for successful outcome of assigned project(s) and solutions; interacts with end users to assist in collecting, documenting, and analyzing business requirements; communicates clearly and timely with customers and end users.
  • Creates clear, technical designs, and specifications; develops solutions and communicates requirements to external developers.
  • Develops, coordinates, and executes detailed test plans.
  • Trains end users and documents processes for knowledge transfer.
  • Identifies and documents solution related risks and issues; providing guidance and documentation, including scope of work, objectives, timelines, and quality of deliverables.
  • Follows policies to ensure business requirements are appropriately translated and communicates risks to stakeholders.
  • Keeps current with new functionality or technical offerings related to financial systems as well as with accounting concepts pertinent to healthcare finance.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to end user processes as they relate to financial systems.
  • Operates under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Job Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering, preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, project management, and time management skills, preferred.
  • Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills, preferred.
  • PACS Experience: Direct experience supporting, configuring, and troubleshooting PACS systems in a healthcare environment. (Highly Preferred)
  • Healthcare IT Support: Proven experience in healthcare application support and testing, ideally within a radiology or medical imaging department. (Highly Preferred)
  • Radiology/Imaging Workflow: Strong understanding of radiology and medical imaging workflows, including image acquisition, storage, distribution, viewing, and interpretation. (Highly Preferred)
  • Technical Background: Solid IT background and training, including familiarity with Windows operating systems, network fundamentals, and database concepts. (Highly Preferred)
  • Interfacing Standards: Familiarity with medical imaging standards and protocols, including DICOM, HL7, and XDS. Experience troubleshooting interface issues is highly valued. (Highly Preferred)
  • On-Call Availability: Ability and willingness to participate in a scheduled after-hours on-call rotation for critical support needs. (Highly Preferred)
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. (Highly Preferred)
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical users and clinical staff.(Highly Preferred)
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. (Highly Preferred)

  • Specific System Experience: Direct experience with one or more of the following systems is highly desirable:
  • Hyland: Acuo VNA, NilRead, MDR, XDS, Modlink, PACSGear
  • Philips: VuePACS
  • Ultrasound Reporting: ASOBGYN, Qpath
