Position Responsibilities:

Our products support research, classified national security operations, and commercial endeavors. Security and reliability are essential to the success of these programs.

The Robotic Research product team is looking for technical, passionate security engineers to influence the security of software and hardware across our product lines. We are looking for people who see the big picture, prioritize accordingly, and are comfortable with working at different levels of abstraction between the physical and the logical.

Ideally, you have notable skills in one or more of the following: exploit development or mitigation, security architecture design, firmware security, software development, or operating system security. Being flexible, communicating clearly, and establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with other engineering teams are paramount to success.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Audit embedded code to identify security vulnerabilities.
  • Assist design teams in developing secure automotive systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments to prioritize threats and compare mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct penetration tests and risk assessments in an automotive or industrial or disconnected environment.
  • Lead product security initiatives and serve as a point of contact.
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams to implement, identify and advance security with our products.
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams and external suppliers to mitigate risk. Help to design a secure connected UAV/UGV architecture.
  • Work with vendors, partners to drive vulnerability remediation.

Education & Experience:
  • BS in Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Information Security, Electrical Engineering or proof of exceptional skills in related fields, with practical software engineering experience.
  • Strong investigative and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with secure architecture design.
  • Security expertise in one or more of: C, C++, Python, ARM, x86, CAN, cryptography, disconnected systems, exploit development.
  • Proficient in software development, auditing code and features.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Advanced degree in a technical or engineering discipline
  • Automotive & Hardware experience
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and to learn new technologies quickly
  • Demonstrated skill in hardware and software security, including a track record of identifying and mitigating high-impact vulnerabilities
  • Experience contributing security improvements to complex systems
  • Experience with disassemblers and/or reverse engineering
  • Fundamental understanding of network protocols; including the TCP/IP stack as well as UDP based protocols
  • Experience with fuzzing, buffer overflows, and other common exploit methodologies
  • Experienced in navigating large, complex, interactive systems
  • Penetration testing experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
