Position Summary

A Senior Product Owner is responsible for organizing, prioritizing, and assessing work for Agile teams while driving the strategic direction, roadmap, and delivery of critical Order-to-Cash (O2C) capabilities. This role serves as the product leader for the Accounts Receivable & Collections and Contract & Order Management domains, partnering closely with business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to deliver scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency, financial outcomes, and customer experience.

The Senior Product Owner is accountable for translating business strategy into actionable product roadmaps, managing and prioritizing backlogs, defining user stories and acceptance criteria, and ensuring delivery of measurable business value. Within Accounts Receivable & Collections, the role supports capabilities that enable accurate billing, timely cash application, dispute resolution, and collections execution to accelerate cash realization. Within Contract & Order Management, the role supports the establishment of executable deals, generation of defensible contracts, and maintenance of accurate commercial and delivery details across the order lifecycle.

This position partners with business and technology teams to optimize and modernize solutions leveraging SAP Accounts Receivable (FI-AR), SAP Sales & Distribution (SD), RightAngle, and custom .NET applications, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, compliance requirements, and organizational objectives. The Senior Product Owner drives continuous improvement, supports digital transformation initiatives, and enables delivery teams to successfully execute against product commitments while advancing the long-term vision for O2C capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Builds customer and internal facing products with superior user experience across multiple verticals, accountable for an established or moderate complexity product.
  • Ensures alignment between teams to build and prioritize product roadmaps, plan releases, and align them with business objectives.
  • Collaborates with Agile teams, stakeholders, and business representatives to address and resolve issues that arise during product development.
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams, such as Research and Development, User Experience (UX), and business and operations teams, to align on product strategies, gather insights, and plan releases.
  • Identifies product-related issues, makes decisions and continuously does trade-off analyses to ensure development stays on track toward deliverable commitments.
  • Prioritizes the short-term feature backlog and releases, as well as the long-term product roadmap for products.
  • Conducts customer research, product discovery and synthesizes market factors into a cohesive product strategy.
  • Collaborates with customers to understand challenges & opportunities.
  • Collects quantitative data and takes a data driven approach to evaluate the viability of product initiatives.
  • Writes epics and stories to support completion of initiatives; ensures stories clearly communicate the customer and stakeholder needs to meet key business objectives and strategies for the product; promotes Agile approaches to product development across teams/areas


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems preferred, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required
  • Experience supporting Order-to-Cash (O2C) business capabilities including Accounts Receivable, Collections, Contract Management, or Order Management required.
  • Experience working in Agile environments as a Product Owner or Product Manager required.
  • Experience defining product roadmaps, managing backlogs, and delivering enterprise technology solutions required.
  • Experience with SAP SD (Sales & Distribution) and/or SAP FI-AR (Accounts Receivable) preferred.
  • Experience within the energy, manufacturing, or transportation industries preferred.
  • Product Owner Certification (CSPO, PSPO) preferred.
