Senior Product Marketing Manager - Retail, Hospitality, Public Sector, Matterport - Arlington, VA
Job Description
About the Role
Matterport is hiring a Senior Product Marketing Manager to own our positioning and go-to-market for enterprises that operate large portfolios of physical locations. Reporting to the Director of Product Marketing, you will carry retail and restaurants, travel and hospitality, and government and public sector, including state and local government and education.
Retail and restaurants is the anchor, and the most interesting problem in the portfolio. Multi-site operators think in terms of hundreds or thousands of locations, rollout programs, and standards enforcement across a footprint. Building a dedicated program for that buyer is the mandate, and we want someone who has run that conversation before.
Travel and hospitality runs on the same logic. Hotel groups, resorts, and venue operators manage portfolios of physical space with the same rollout and consistency problems as a restaurant chain. This is a market to build and prove rather than a program to maintain.
Public sector is the other half of the job, and a genuinely different discipline. Government buyers move deliberately, through procurement rules that shape the whole cycle. The work is supporting long buying cycles, contract vehicles, and the specific proof public agencies require before they commit.
Facilities management runs underneath all three. The people who operate buildings for a living care about similar things across retail, hospitality, and public portfolios, and that theme cuts across the wider portfolio rather than belonging to one industry. You will work it with the rest of the team rather than building it alone.
We are looking for someone who is genuinely of this world. You should be able to sit with a director of construction at a national restaurant group, or a facilities lead at a public agency, and be taken as a peer inside the first ten minutes.
This position is located in Arlington, Virginia and is in office Monday through Friday.
Own Positioning and Go-to-Market
Own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market for retail and restaurants, travel and hospitality, and government and public sector.
Know the Buyer Better Than Anyone Here
Learn the public-sector path properly, including procurement cycles, contract vehicles, and the approvals a government buyer has to clear.
Build the material Sales uses in real conversations: industry narratives, discovery guidance, competitive positioning, and customer proof.
Build the late-stage material long-cycle deals need, including procurement documentation, security and compliance answers, business cases, and pilot-to-rollout proof.
Use AI in your own workflow for buyer research, competitive monitoring, and content production, and share what works with the team.
6+ years in B2B product marketing, industry marketing, or vertical marketing, including at least three years marketing to a defined industry audience rather than to a product category.
Direct experience marketing to multi-site retail, restaurant, or franchise enterprises, or to the technology and services those operators buy. This is the anchor requirement for the role and we will test for it in interview.
Experience marketing into long, multi-stakeholder buying cycles where procurement, security, and finance all have a say.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Public sector marketing experience across federal, state, local, education, or public safety, including familiarity with procurement cycles and contract vehicles.
