Job Summary

We are seeking a Product Manager - Procurement to define the future of how utilities buy, contract, and deploy the capital behind every grid investment - one of the largest and least-modernized corners of the entire industry. This is a leading-edge, build-it-from-the-ground-up role: you will be the quarterback for an entirely new, AI-native procurement solution on Gigawatt's operating system for utilities, from the first whiteboard sketch to production. You'll have real autonomy to set direction, make the decisive calls, and move fast in a space modern software has barely touched.

And you won't do it alone. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with an experienced, all-star product and engineering team, and partner closely with utility SMEs, supply chain and finance leaders, and AI engineers to translate complex regulatory, operational, and supply chain requirements into elegant, AI-powered workflows. Reporting directly to the VP of Products, you'll ship rapid MVPs that meet the stringent demands of capital-intensive utility procurement while unlocking measurable savings and speed. If you want genuine ownership, velocity, and the chance to shape a category, this is the seat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Product Strategy- Own the roadmap for the procurement module, spanning demand planning and forecasting, source-to-pay, contract and supplier management, and capital project sourcing.
  • Balance regulatory and audit requirements with user experience and business value.
  • MVP & Iteration- Define MVPs that capture high-value use cases, validate assumptions quickly, and iterate based on feedback.
  • Drive AI-enabled validation of procurement processes against specs, ensuring compliance and operational integrity.
  • SME Engagement- Lead structured discovery sessions with utility buyers, category managers, supply chain, and finance teams.
  • Translate SME knowledge into actionable specs (Use Cases) enriched with AI-generated documentation and prototypes.
  • Execution & Delivery- Work with engineering and design to release production-ready features on compressed timelines.
  • Platform & Dependencies- Understand the overall scope of Gigawatt's offering to make informed decisions on platform and cross-module dependencies, sequencing them against the broader suite roadmap.
  • Establish clear KPIs (cost savings, cycle time, compliance adherence, operational efficiency).
  • Scaling- Ensure learnings translate into scalable features across the suite.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience: 3-5+ years in product management, ideally within utilities and procurement / supply chain software.
  • Experience: 3+ years implementing source-to-pay or procurement platforms - e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle Procurement Cloud, Jaggaer, Ivalua, or GEP.
  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with procurement, source-to-pay (P2P/S2P), contract lifecycle management, supplier management, and S&OP/IBP strongly preferred; EAM/ERP exposure a plus.
  • AI Knowledge: 1+ years working with AI-enabled procurement, document intelligence, or related technologies.
  • Technical Acumen: Comfort working with engineering teams and designers.
  • Tools: 2+ yrs experience with Jira, Figma, and other product management tools.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to bridge the gap between SMEs and technical teams. Strong communication, structured problem-solving, and ability to drive consensus.

Location

  • Remote - we are prioritizing candidates in central and eastern timezones (ideally Chicago, Austin or Nashville)

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and equity package.
  • Opportunity to shape a transformative AI product in a vital industry working with a rock-star team.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, remote work flexibility, and 401k match.
  • Collaborative culture focused on innovation and impact.
  • If you are passionate about modernizing the systems that run America's utilities, apply today!
