Generac Home is hiring for a Senior Product Manager, with a focus on Residential Electrical Systems. In this role you will be responsible for guiding the strategy, development, and lifecycle of Residential Source Interconnect Systems that coordinate power between residential systems, backup power sources, and the utility grid. This role works closely with hardware, firmware, software controls, and system integration teams to translate customer and market needs into clear product priorities and requirements. The ideal candidate is an experienced Product Manager who can quickly develop an understanding of technically oriented systems, lead cross-functional decision-making, and help deliver safe, reliable, and effective Residential energy systems. This role is located onsite in our Pewaukee WI office. Job Responsibilities: • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for Residential Transfers Switches and Source Interconnect devices. • Develop a strong understanding of customer needs, market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging energy-system technologies. • Define and communicate product requirements, priorities, and success criteria to internal cross-functional partners. • Manage product scope and tradeoffs while aligning customer value, technical feasibility, business objectives, timing, and resources. • Partner closely with hardware, firmware, software, controls, and system integration teams throughout the stage-gate product development process. • Champion products that detect residential utility power outages, support safe disconnection from the grid, coordinate operation of standby of generator or battery energy storage systems, and enable reconnection when utility service is restored. • Serve as a product subject-matter resource for Residential Source Interconnect Systems functionality, customer use cases, and systems-level behavior. • Collaborate with commercial marketing, operations, service, and other business partners to lead product introductions, market adoption, and ongoing product line performance. • Use customer feedback, market insights, product data, and business results to identify opportunities and inform product decisions. • Communicate product direction, decisions, risks, and progress clearly to stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization. Minimum Requirements • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience in Product, Marketing, Engineering, or related Business field. • 5+ years of professional experience including at least 3+ years of experience in product management or similar product development within a technical function • Ability to understand and communicate system level behavior or interactions (e.g. grid, power generation, backup power, or load control) Preferred Requirements: • Product management experience with ownership of product requirements, priorities, roadmaps, and lifecycle decisions. • Experience working with technical products that combine hardware, firmware, software, controls, or connected systems. • Ability to understand and communicate systems-level interactions among the utility grid, backup power generation, battery storage, load management, and residential or commercial electrical systems. • Experience partnering with engineering teams and translating customer or business needs into actionable technical requirements. • Experience in power electronics, energy systems, energy management, residential or commercial electrical products, distributed energy resources, or a related industry. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills. • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to align technical and nontechnical stakeholders. • Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and adapt to evolving product and market needs. • Willingness to work in person with the team At this time this role is not approved for either OPT/H1B sponsorship or transfer.
