Job Description Seeking Product Engineer to provide a diversified range of technical services to internal and external customers supporting the attainment of Company, Team, and Division goals. Experience in a lean manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Commitment to following and promoting zero-accident safety culture required. Position is responsible for providing development and design support in forging and manufacturing operations using FEA modeling to meet customer requirements. Position is also responsible for control of estimating on new products and tooling to ensure all requirements are met in efficient, cost-effective manner and provide engineering support to Operations for equipment and facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Product and tooling design using FEA modeling for forging and heat-treat.
- Lead engineering efforts (through experimentation and FEA analysis) to obtain boundary conditions for thermal modeling
- Understanding of forging and heat treat operations.
- Reviews customer inquiries for new products
- Collaborate with Product Metallurgy in the development, evaluation, and standardization of new products/alloys and processing methods.
- Ensuring that the requirements of the Quality Systems Manual are fully incorporated in area
of responsibility.
- Participate in product/process continuous improvement initiatives. Apply statistical data analysis, six-sigma methodologies, and design of experiments as required to support initiatives.
- Participate in team-based, cross-functional activities including PFMEA, risk assessments, problem solving activities (8-D, 5-Why, cause/effect diagrams) and process audits
- Support and lead cost saving projects and initiatives
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance personnel to improve manufacturing processes and standards that enhance safety and product quality.
- Provide technical support for all departments as deemed necessary.
- Performs all other duties, tasks, and special projects as assigned
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering required, MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 7+ years of experience working in an Engineering capacity, preferably in a metal manufacturing environment.
- Experience providing support on a production floor.
- Specialized knowledge of forging, machining, and heat treat production equipment
- Excellent computer skills using CAD (Unigraphics preferred) and Finite Element Analysis (Deform preferred)
- CFD Modeling experience
- Classical drawing interpretation / GD&T knowledge.
- Understanding of the application of statistics and six sigma practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)

US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts. For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $12000 to $140000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
