This is your chance to define the future of supply chain management for thousands of operators and brands and shape the way AI tooling functions for Stord software products.
We're looking for a senior designer who can make complex, intelligent systems feel clear and controllable - someone who sees AI not as a black box to hide, but as a collaborator to design with. You'll own design for Stord's Order Management System (OMS) and our growing suite of AI-powered features.
What You'll DoOwn OMS & AI Surface Design- Design experiences across the full order lifecycle for Stord's Order Management system: routing, exception handling, fulfillment, inventory management and more
- Design rule-management surfaces (Automations) that give operators real control over decisions at scale
- Own AI tooling for brands across Stord: across chat, feed, search and agentic workflows
- Create human-in-the-loop UX patterns: escalation flows, confidence indicators, and insight driven dashboards
- Design for power users in data-dense environments where speed and precision matter
Champion the User and Inspire the Team- Research with order managers, CS agents, and ops leads to understand how they navigate complex order states, inventory management and fulfillment at scale
- Translate AI orchestration complexity into design narratives that make engineers and data scientists care about UX outcomes
- Build empathy across the org for operators managing hundreds of simultaneous orders under AI-assisted pressure
Drive Rapid Design Iteration- Leverage AI design tools for quick prototyping and design exploration to accelerate velocity
- Create high-fidelity prototypes that validate concepts before engineering investment
- Iterate based on usability testing, A/B test results, and consumer feedback
- Balance design perfection with shipping velocity - deliver great experiences quickly
Establish AI Design Patterns- Define and document Stord's UX standards for AI-assisted operations: how intelligence is surfaced in Feed, how Chat responses translate to UI actions and more
- Build design system components for AI-native workflows - generative response cards, confidence signals, one-click resolution patterns, and agentic trigger builders
- Partner with data science and engineering to ensure model outputs are structured in ways that support clear, actionable UI - not the other way around
Collaborate and Measure- Define success metrics for your designs tied to conversion, completion rates, and
- satisfaction scores
- Conduct usability testing to validate design decisions with real consumers
- Analyze behavior data to identify friction points and optimization opportunities
- Continuously refine experiences based on performance data and user feedback
What You'll Need:Design Experience and Expertise:- 6+ years of product design experience with experience designing AI tools and B2C or B2B experiences
- Multi-platform design - Experience creating responsive experiences across mobile, tablet,
and desktop - User research skills - Proven ability to conduct user interviews, usability testing, and
translate insights into design - Modern design tools - Advanced proficiency in Figma, literacy and practices for integrating various AI tools into the design process, with appetite to ramp up as new tools evolve
The Skills That Set You Apart:- Storytelling ability - You can paint a picture of the brand operator's journey that get engineering teams invested
- Technical collaboration - You speak engineering's language and understand technical constraints without compromising UX
- AI savvy - You understand (or quickly learn) AI UX patterns and apply it to the world of order management, logistics and fulfillment
- High-fidelity execution - Your designs are polished, detailed, and ready for engineering handoff
- AI tool enthusiasm - You're excited to adopt AI-powered design tools to accelerate your workflow
The Mindset We're Looking For:- High energy and vision - You bring contagious enthusiasm for creating experiences that brands love to use
- Bias for action - You move fast, iterate quickly, and don't get stuck in analysis paralysis
- Empathy-driven - You genuinely care about the frustrated customer waiting for their package
- Collaborative spirit - You thrive in team environments and make everyone around you better
- Data-informed - You balance qualitative insights with quantitative metrics to drive decisions
What Gets Us Really Excited:- You've designed logistics or fulfillment applications and/or AI teams before
- You have experience designing white-label or multi-tenant applications that adapt to brand guidelines
- You've worked in fast-paced startup or scale-up environments with rapid iteration cycles
- You have a portfolio showing measurable improvements in conversion, completion, or satisfaction metrics
- You've successfully influenced engineering teams to care deeply about user experience
- You understand accessibility standards and design for inclusive experiences
