Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Process Mechanical Engineer - Construction to join our team building the new North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant. This facility will treat a maximum flow of 320 MLD using a stacked, multi-story process designed to fit in a constrained site. The successful candidate will have a unique career-building opportunity to be directly engaged in construction, commissioning, and on-site problem solving for one of the region's most significant infrastructure projects. Following the successful completion of this project, the successful candidate will be well-placed for lead roles on Stantec projects in the region and beyond.

Your Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership
  • Lead and/or participate in meetings with client Operations & Maintenance staff to identify and implement design optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate work within a multidiscipline, multi-office, team environment requiring exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Participate in typical design meetings including: scope, engineering, design, specifications, PFD/P&ID drawings, line list, tie-in list, equipment lists, controls, and HAZOP
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and approval of engineering design deliverables, Provide support to Commissioning, Start Up and turnover activities
  • Coordinate design deliverables among various technical disciplines for a major water or wastewater project.

Construction Support
  • Liaise with the construction contractor, design consultants, and client's technical staff
  • Facilitate resolution of Contractor/Engineer/Owner issues related to quality and interpretation of design documents
  • Understand, communicate, and ensure compliance with contract requirements related to construction activities
  • Lead and participate in periodic project status meetings with the client, design consultants, and construction contractors.
  • Mentor junior engineers

Quality & Client Service
  • Review deliverables from a variety of consultants and communicate findings to the client.
  • Understand and interpret client expectations, standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Owner's team to implement and improve processes and workflows
  • Perform work in accordance with Stantec and client quality programs, as well as applicable codes and standards of the jurisdiction.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Experience in large, complex, multi-disciplinary construction including major equipment installation
  • Experience providing design services on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Strong verbal and written English as well as excellent interpersonal communication skills communication skills Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Requirement to work at the North Vancouver site office up to 5 days per week

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Process Mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience including design and construction
  • Licensed Professional Engineer, or ability to become registered as a P.Eng with EGBC

Pay Range:
• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$111,700.00 - $167,600.00 Annually
