Job DescriptionSedgman is currently recruiting for a
Senior Process Designer, with hands-on experience working on projects ranging from conceptual design to detailed engineering. This person will be based out of our Vancouver office.
The
SeniorProcess Designer will be involved in the entire design process, from concept to detailed design. They will be working on mining and mineral processing projects across the country and internationally, collaborating with engineers to present our clients with unique solutions, producing and maintaining the process design documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Produce detailed design drawings for process plants, equipment, piping systems, utilities, and associated infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain plant layouts and process design documentation from concept through detailed engineering phases.
- Translate engineering specifications, sketches, and calculations into accurate and practical design drawings.
- Collaborate with process, mechanical, structural, electrical, and project engineering teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Prepare and develop process engineering deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Lead design reviews and provide input on constructability, drafting issues, and compliance with engineering standards.
- Maintain drawing registers, track design progress, and manage document revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all drawings and design deliverables comply with Sedgman standards, client requirements, and industry regulations.
- Support project teams with reporting on design status, resource requirements, and schedule milestones.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, quality management processes, and the development of standard design practices.
- Utilize CAD and engineering design software (e.g., Autodesk, Revit and Bentley applications) to generate and update technical documentation.
- Provide drafting support to the project teams in line with management direction from them whilst maximising individual and teams utilisation.
- Focus on meeting expectations for schedule, quality and client satisfaction
- Check drafting deliverables for accuracy, completeness and adherence to design specifications & intent.
- Apply attention and diligence to uphold quality standards, and client requirements, to complete tasks efficiently.
About You- Associate Diploma in CAD / Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 7-10 year's industry experience in a drafting / design consultancy environment, preferably supporting mining, minerals processing, or heavy industries.
- Experience working on projects from conceptual design through to detailed engineering.
- Proven experience and proficiency with AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks
- Professional experience in 3D modelling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Advanced Steel, Autodesk Forma, Autodesk Vault, Civil 3D and Plant3D will be an asset.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Previous MS Office skills

Salary Range: $90,000-115,000The salary offered to the successful person for this position will consider education, experience, relevant skills and capability, geographic location and market conditions at the time of hire.
