What Your Job Will Be LikeDo you want to join a dynamic team that serves an organization that supports our national security? Do you want to support Sandia's national security missions? We are looking for an exceptional Computer Science Engineer to join our Team! You will apply integrated technical judgment, which requires using the scientific method to recognize and formulate problems, to collect data through observation and experimentation, and to formulate and test hypotheses to anticipate, innovate, and deliver solutions to Sandia National Laboratories missions.
You will participate in the development and application of computational capabilities to tackle problems in science and engineering. You will be applying methods and techniques that merge disciplines in science and engineering with computer science. Duties include but not limited to the research, development, deployment and in-depth technical support of general scientific and engineering application software and related tools.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Plan, conceive, conduct, or lead research and development for Sandia's customers and sponsors.
- Direct systematic study toward a fuller knowledge or understanding of the fundamental aspects of phenomena and of observable facts and discover new approaches to achieve goals.
- Create new understandings and capabilities by using the Scientific Method's hypothesis, test, and evaluation techniques; critical review; or similar engineering research and development methods.
- Initiate, design, develop, execute, and evaluate new processes, products, or systems through basic and applied research.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work onsite.
Salary Range$117,500 - $235,700
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance and an SCI level security clearance which may require a polygraph
Qualifications We DesireThe ideal R&D S&E Computer Science candidate will in addition possess the following:
