Full Job Description
Job Overview:

The Sr. Principal Toxicologist is a role that manages day-to-day activities in toxicology to enable KDP to innovate and commercialize safe food and beverages. This role works side-by-side with Quality, Nutrition, Chemistry, Regulatory and Legal and plays a key role in the product development process of all our food and beverage categories through application of toxicology science, consumption data and risk assessment. In addition, this role will support analysis and actions related to our Chemicals of Concern program and new regulations as appropriate. We are looking for a team member who collaborates, is high performance team-oriented, and able to apply technical and academic excellence across our food and beverage portfolio.

Position Responsibilities
  • Effectively execute department strategies to support world class competency in toxicology, food safety and compliance.
  • Contribute to thought leadership on the application of established toxicology methods and lead risk assessment for finished product, ingredients and packaging.
  • Help assure business success through the appropriate application of toxicological assessment to innovation, product application, food safety and productivity initiatives.
  • Support internal and external legal counsel with science based risk assessment.
  • Ensure the highest standards in quality and regulatory compliance. Understand the industry's toxicology current and future concerns and retain currency in the field by staying abreast of external regulatory changes.
  • Proficiency in using statistical analysis and data science tools in decision making.
  • Understand the business and product categories and seamlessly work cross-functionally.
  • Frequently use independent judgement to make decisions and risk assessment.
  • Serve as the scientific expert representing KDP working with outside organizations, committees and other assignments. Review and comment on toxicology studies, design studies, and submit proposals.
  • Monitor budget.

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $130,700 - $190,000
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
  • Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility
