We are seeking an enthusiastic early-career software engineer to design and develop software for a mission focused on high-throughput, high-volume data processing. On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Develop software solutions and algorithms for remote sensing systems, including the capture, processing, exploitation, visualization, and distribution of real-time satellite sensor data.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, technical leads, customers, and end users to collect requirements, design solutions, and deliver extensible software applications.
- Analyze existing systems and develop new solutions that push the state of what is possible.
- Propose and lead image processing and data-centric research and development projects.
- Engage with diverse specialists in areas such as data fusion, signal and image processing, analytics, cloud computing, machine learning, modeling and simulation, service architectures, data management and visualization.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range$102,400 - $199,700
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a highly related field and five years of directly related experience.
- Experience in software design, engineering, and development
- Experience with object-oriented software development in C++, Java, or Python
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q and SCI clearance which may require a polygraph test.
Qualifications We Desire- Experience using CI/CD tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, or Docker.
- Proven presentation and communication skills
- Desire and ability to grow technical capabilities, programs, and staff
- Evidence for and a desire to lead in any capacity (technical direction, project leader, program leader, mentor, educator,
etc.) - Active DOE Q and SCI clearance or DOD equivalent.

We have a robust RD&E portfolio spectrum funded by both internal and external sources, which supports our design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of large networked computing systems for detecting, tracking, classifying targets of interest, and expanding into new areas or exploring new methods.
