Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Senior Portfolio Consultant I assumes a critical role in executing investment implementations for complex portfolio transitions and high net worth clients. This role is deeply involved in the investment process, serving as a point person for newly acquired firms assimilating to our investment platform and models. In addition, this role is pivotal in supporting the firm's organic growth by developing investment deliverables for prospective clients. Collaborating closely with Wealth Advisors, Operations, Portfolio Management, Compliance, and Trading departments, this role ensures strategic alignment and delivers exceptional service. Responsibilities include handling implementations for sophisticated investment portfolios and providing valuable insights to optimize client portfolios and enhance the client experience.

Essential Job Functions will include:

Concierge Level Service & Communication
  • Communicate investment philosophy and available investment strategies clearly and effectively.
  • Provide status updates on portfolio implementations proactively and timely.
  • Deliver an excellent experience to our Wealth Advisor Teams in developing and implementing investment strategies
  • Must have the ability to work both independently as well as within a team on multiple time-sensitive projects with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Lead presentations on various investment topics to Wealth Advisor teams.

Knowledge of Investment Management
  • Support new Portfolio Consultants with developing core competencies within investment platform.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of capital markets and portfolio design & management.
  • Ability to effectively match Advisor implementation goals with available investment strategies.
  • Expertise in complex investment vehicles, models, and platform, including public and private markets.
  • Drafting, supporting, and auditing analytics, proposals, and deliverables for Wealth Management Teams.
  • Understanding of account configuration options including cash reserves, rebalancing frequency, and do-not-buy / do-not-sell restrictions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of short-term and long-term capital gains tax to help transition portfolios over desired time-horizons.

Manage Efficient Process & Workflows
  • Strong grasp on overall process & workflow to help troubleshoot portfolio inquiries.
  • Collaborate with key central teams to coordinate process improvement.
  • Responsible for managing standardized workflows and investment processes
  • Manage portfolio implementations concurrently to meet or exceed Service Level Agreements
  • Audit implementations to ensure outcome is consistent with target portfolio objectives
  • Oversee implementations for high net worth and ultra high net worth clients

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred (preferably Business, Economics, Psychology, or Finance related)
  • CFPand/or Series 65 required
  • CFA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of financial industry related experience
  • Working knowledge of Orion and Morningstar preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel preferred, including advanced data analytics
  • Strong problem-solving experience and skills
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and highly collaborative approach
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks

Location: This is a remote position with a strong preference for candidates in the Mountain or Pacific time zones.

Work Schedule: This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM. At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.

Working Conditions: This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions. Whether position is in a dedicated office space or home office workspace, basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements. Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs. Travel assumed up to 10% of the time.

Actual base pay within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the applicant's geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills and licenses/certifications. This position is also eligible to earn incentive compensation through one of Mercer Advisors' incentive compensation programs.

Base Pay Range

$89,250-$105,000 USD
