Your Opportunity

Stantec's Buildings team is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer to support the delivery of complex plumbing and process system projects. This role provides technical expertise, quality oversight, and project support while contributing to the development of standards and successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects. The position balances hands-on plumbing design expertise with coordination and collaboration across project teams.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support complex plumbing projects and assist with project budgets, schedules, and coordination
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers and designers on industry best practices and plumbing and process system design
  • Stay current on new plumbing and related code requirements and communicate updates to project teams
  • Assist in developing and maintaining plumbing standards, details, design processes, and specifications
  • Ensure quality control processes are followed throughout project execution
  • Conduct quality control reviews for selected projects
  • Assist in developing and managing project schedules and budgets
  • Remain current in plumbing design codes, standards, and best practices
  • Collaborate with project managers and discipline leads to develop scope, fees, staffing plans, and schedules
  • Coordinate with engineering discipline leads and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Assist with proposal reviews and workload estimating and forecasting

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license and CPD required; NCEES preferred
  • Strong technical expertise in plumbing and process system design for large, complex facilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and support to engineering staff
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable plumbing codes, standards, and design practices
  • Proficiency with Revit in a building systems design environment
  • Experience with compressed air systems, process systems (RO/DI/High Purity), and medical gas and vacuum systems preferred
  • Experience with UFC design criteria, healthcare facilities, municipal projects, and higher education facilities is a plus
  • Strong communication, organizational, and technical skills

Education and Experience
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering required
  • 10+ years of experience designing plumbing and process systems for large, complex buildings required
  • Some travel required

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
