Join a Top 10 design firm in our US Northeast Buildings practice that provides Interior Design, Architecture, and Buildings Engineering services. We are seeking experienced Senior Plumbing Designer in Rochester, New York - Butler, Pennsylvania, - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, - Cleveland, Ohio, - Washington D.C., New York City, New York, - and Stamford, Connecticut Offices. As an integral member of the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) team, the Senior Plumbing Designer has the knowledge and ability to design a broad range of plumbing systems, specialized plumbing systems, and basic fire protection systems from conceptual design through construction documents. This individual is also responsible to provide design ideas / solutions, and mentor other Designers and Interns.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Works in conjunction with the project design team from conceptual design through construction documents on the design of sanitary, vent, storm, domestic water distribution systems, purified water systems, medical gas systems, laboratory gas systems, natural gas systems, and basic fire protection systems. Specific to the design of these systems, the ideal candidate must be able to design, size, select, schedule, and specify the plumbing and fire sprinkler system components and equipment.
• Produces plumbing and fire sprinkler design documents using Revit and other relevant design software.
• Work independently with minimal direction.
• Perform specialized designs by applying advanced skills.
• Demonstrate understanding of codes and regulatory requirements applicable to plumbing and fire sprinkler design.
• Manage deadlines and prioritize assignments in an efficient and effective manner.
• Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and contractors.
• Identify complex design constraints and provide solutions.
• Comply with company design standards and policies.
• Assists in preparing construction cost estimates.
• Reviews shop drawing submittals and RFIs.
• Performs site observations to ensure installed plumbing and fire sprinkler systems meet design intent.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or a minimum of 10-years of plumbing design experience in is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) and / or Certified Plumbing Design (CPD) credential is preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range:
• Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, ME, NY, VA Areas-$110,300.00 - $165,500.00 Annually
• Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ, VA Areas-$121,300.00 - $182,100.00 Annually
• Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA, VA Areas-$130,200.00 - $195,300.00 Annually
• Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP)-$139,000.00 - $208,500.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
