Job DescriptionYou will work across monitoring agents, synthetic monitoring side agents, REST/API monitors, backend services, configuration management, operational tooling, cloud infrastructure, and user interfaces. The platform must provide secure, dependable telemetry collection and monitor execution at scale, with a strong focus on customer experience, reliability, and operational excellence.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities- Develop and maintain Oracle APM Agents, OpenTelemetry-based agents, OpenTelemetry Operator integrations, and APM Synthetics side agents.
- Build and enhance browser, scripted, and REST/API synthetic monitoring capabilities, including scheduling, authentication, assertions, response validation, retries, and execution-result reporting.
- Develop Java microservices and APIs for configuring, scheduling, executing, and managing agents, synthetic monitors, monitor locations, and related platform capabilities.
- Build and evolve configuration-management systems for agents, monitors, credentials, policies, software versions, and runtime settings.
- Design secure and resilient agent lifecycle capabilities, including installation, registration, configuration delivery, upgrades, health reporting, and diagnostics.
- Develop UI experiences for creating and managing monitors, viewing monitor health and results, troubleshooting failures, configuring alerts, and exploring synthetic telemetry.
- Build operational tooling, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks that enable efficient support and reliable operation of the platform.
- Investigate and resolve production issues across agent connectivity, monitor execution, configuration propagation, APIs, telemetry ingestion, and customer environments.
- Integrate synthetic and agent telemetry with the broader APM platform, including traces, metrics, logs, alerts, service monitoring, and incident workflows.
- Contribute to OCI Log Analytics integrations for operational logs, synthetic-monitoring diagnostics, analytics, and troubleshooting.
- Deploy and operate cloud-native services using OCI services, including Kubernetes/OKE, OCI Streaming, and observability services.
- Use modern AI-assisted engineering tools, including Codex and related developer tools, to improve development velocity, testing, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency.
- Improve reliability, scalability, security, performance, and cost efficiency across the platform.
Qualifications - Strong Java software-engineering experience, particularly with distributed microservices and backend APIs.
- Experience building or operating agents, monitoring platforms, observability systems, automation frameworks, or distributed systems.
- Experience with REST APIs, HTTP protocols, authentication methods, TLS/security concepts, and API testing or monitoring.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, telemetry collection, instrumentation, traces, metrics, logs, and modern observability data models.
- Experience with configuration management, remote agent deployment, fleet management, or agent lifecycle operations.
- Experience developing user interfaces for configuration, monitoring, diagnostics, or operational workflows.
- Strong operational mindset, including production troubleshooting, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Knowledge of OCI services, particularly Kubernetes/OKE, OCI Streaming, and OCI observability services.
- Familiarity with OCI Log Analytics or similar log analytics and observability platforms.
- Familiarity with Codex and other AI-assisted development tools, with an ability to apply them thoughtfully to engineering workflows.
- Ability to work effectively across agents, backend services, APIs, UI development, configuration systems, infrastructure, and customer-facing technical problem solving.
QualificationsUS: Hiring Range in USD from: $92,500 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
