Data and AI Technology (DAT) Capabilities support the Bank's Digital First strategy by enabling value realization driven by data analytics, business intelligence, data management, and robotics delivered through frictionless access to services, tools, and platforms for DAT business user consumption.
Our team is responsible for the engineering, operations, and continuous evolution of Enterprise Data Management platforms, including Data Catalog, Data Quality, Data Lineage, Data Modeling, Metadata Management, and Analytics solutions - ensuring they are secure, scalable, reliable access to trusted data across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Own the operations, stability, security, scalability, and support of enterprise data platforms.
- Provide production support and ensure platform availability, performance, and reliability (Alation, Manta, PowerDesigner, Infirmatica).
- Monitor platform health, adoption metrics, and operational KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Support cloud modernization and data migration initiatives across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Develop and execute platform strategies, roadmaps, and enhancement plans in collaboration with Architecture, Engineering, Security, and Business stakeholders.
- Design and implement innovative solutions, tools, and processes to improve data management and protection. Automate processes/workflows on occasion which requires scripting and coding capability (Python Bash, Shell)
- Document functional and technical requirements, workflows, and solution designs.
- Analyze platform and usage data to identify optimization opportunities.
- Manage APIs and integration components with a focus on security, resilience, and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Work independently and provide technical leadership on strategic platform initiatives.
Must have:- Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline.
- 7+ years of experience supporting Data Management platforms, including Data Catalog, Data Quality, Data Modeling, and Data Lineage solutions (i.e. Manta, Informatica, Alation, PowerDesigner)
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and Spark, Lambda, CDK
- Expertise in data modeling, database design, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience with SSIS, AWS Glue, cloud storage, and cloud computing services (AWS, Azure)
- Experience deploying and supporting enterprise data solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and Fabric Data Lake.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams using Jira.
- Strong understanding of system design, platform engineering, and API management.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated learning agility, innovation mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Salary:$75,900.00 - $141,900.00
Pay Type: Salaried

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
