In this role, you will provide technical leadership and engineering support to help maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our gas transmission system. Working closely with field and regional teams, you will manage operational risk, resolve complex equipment and reliability issues, and develop practical solutions that enhance both day-to-day operations and long-term system performance.

  • Internal job title is Sr Engineer.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide technical guidance to field teams while identifying opportunities to improve processes, procedures, and day-to-day operations.
  • Apply CFR 192 (the U.S. federal safety standards governing the transportation of natural and other gas by pipeline, issued by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration [PHMSA]), company requirements, and relevant industry standards to support engineering decisions, material selection, testing, and safe operations.
  • Review projects, procedures, pipeline crossings, encroachments, and gas-handling plans to manage operational risk and protect pipeline integrity.
  • Investigate equipment failures, operational concerns, and reliability issues, then develop practical and sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Support project scope development, budget planning, audits, technical documentation, and internal or external information requests.
  • Share engineering expertise across regional teams and provide timely technical support during emergency-response situations.


Who You Are:
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience within the pipeline or oil and gas industry.
  • Understanding of CFR 192 and have working knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, engineering practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with natural gas design and operations, supported by a background in pipeline integrity, reliability, or operational engineering.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide effective oversight across concurrent projects, technical activities, and operational requests.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, technology, and team leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively across field and office environments.


Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in both office and field environments.
  • You will undergo various background screenings that include but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical.
  • Occasional travel (~10% ) to regional field teams or other offices. Ability to travel and work throughout the United States.
  • The role requires collaboration with regional field teams and may involve support during emergency-response situations.


Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary:
  • Ranges from $100,000 to $140,000 USD for U.S. locations based upon the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.
  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
