In this critical role, you will be our sole end-to-end subject matter expert, taking complete ownership of our global payroll operations across North America, and EMEA, as well as managing our global benefits programs. Key Responsibilities- Global Payroll Ownership: Lead end-to-end processing for multi-jurisdictional payroll across North America, and EMEA utilizing ADP WorkforceNow and trusted local payroll vendors.
- Benefits Administration & Strategy: Manage global employee benefits programs, draft clear policy communications, conduct annual vendor reviews, and ensure seamless open enrollment and onboarding/offboarding workflows.
- Financial Alignment & Accounting: Perform monthly payroll journal entries, accruals, variance analysis, GL reconciliations and financial audits. Process and reconcile monthly benefit billing statements across all carriers.
- Compliance & Year-End: Ensure 100% compliance with local labor laws, statutory tax filings, statutory reporting, and year-end processes (e.g., tax statements/summaries) across all global operating entities.
- Employee Experience: Serve as the trusted primary contact for employee inquiries regarding pay, tax withholdings, and benefits entitlements.
- HR Systems & Master Data: Maintain data integrity across systems (ADP WorkforceNow, BambooHR, NetSuite), updating employee records, compensation changes, and leverage tech to automate manual processes.
Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience, with mandatory hands-on experience in US & Canadian payroll processing and tax compliance.
- Tech-Savvy: Advanced hands-on proficiency in ADP WorkforceNow, BambooHR, NetSuite, and Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas).
- Hands-On Mindset: Thrives working independently as the sole payroll/benefits operator while being a supportive team player on a lean HR team.
- Adaptable & Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills, high accuracy, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to flex in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong Communicator: Excellent verbal/written communication skills with an approachable, empathetic, and customer-service mindset toward employee inquiries.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Payroll certification (e.g., PLP/PCP through National Payroll Institute or US CPP equivalent).
- Experience working in the SaaS or CXM (Customer Experience Management) industries.
Additional details:- This role is open to remote applicants within the US and Canada, with a strong preference for candidates based in the Toronto or Vancouver areas.
- The typical salary range for this is $100,000 - $115,000 CAD. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
