POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Payroll Accountant is responsible for the preparation and analysis of account reconciliations in connection with the Company's monthly close processes. The position collaborates with Corporate and Field divisions to ensure accounting issues are appropriately identified, analyzed, documented and reported. The Senior Payroll Accountant also assists in the analysis and reconciliation of payroll tax with various federal, state and municipal tax agencies, and our payroll processing partners.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Prepares account reconciliations and compiles financial information by using system tools to prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Aggregates and supports key financial information used in the Company's monthly internal reporting, and quarterly and annual reporting.
- Analyzes documents from federal, state and municipal tax agencies and our payroll processing partners to research and resolve payroll tax accounting matters.
- Maintains current knowledge of GAAP requirements and incorporates these requirements in accounting activities.
- Interacts with the Corporate and Field divisions to assist in the identification, analysis and resolution of accounting matters.
- Applies accounting knowledge to the continued use of existing technology to increase department efficiency, streamline the monthly close process, and improve the payroll and accounting processes.
- Authors and maintains content of various financial payroll accounting policies.
- Ensures internal controls related to payroll accounting processes are functioning as intended and are completed timely and accurately.
- Aggregates and provides information to support financial audits.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Payroll accounting or other relevant experience.
- Combined 5 years of public accounting (Big 4 or Tier II National), or corporate financial analysis or accounting experience.
- Certified Public Accountant.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting.
Pay for this role is $75,100 - $103,300 depending on experience.
