Roblox is looking for a Senior Payments Compliance Manager to lead the design and enforcement of our global Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and sanctions compliance programs. As our payments ecosystem continues to scale, this role is essential to driving a culture of compliance, managing our regulatory framework and contractual obligations, and enabling a safe platform for our users. You will develop and manage the policies, operations, and controls that support Roblox's compliance posture, partnering closely with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Finance teams. This is a full-time, hybrid position reporting to the Head of Compliance.
You Will:- Design, implement, and continuously improve Roblox's end-to-end KYC program, including customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing monitoring processes.
- Develop and maintain AML policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related FinCEN guidance.
- Build and operate a sanctions compliance program aligned with OFAC requirements and global equivalents (e.g., UN, EU, OFSI), including screening processes, escalation workflows, and blocked party procedures.
- Conduct and oversee periodic risk assessments to evaluate KYC, AML, and sanctions exposure across Roblox's payments products and geographies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex KYC, AML, and sanctions issues, including transaction monitoring alerts, SAR filing decisions, and regulatory inquiries.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to embed compliance requirements into payments features and ensure controls scale with the business.
- Lead and develop a Payments Compliance program in partnership with the Head of Compliance, setting clear goals and building the operational capabilities needed to execute the program effectively.
- Track evolving regulatory requirements and industry trends in payments compliance and proactively update the program to reflect changes.
- Conduct and oversee compliance due diligence on third-party payment partners and processors - including AML program assessments, sanctions screening practices, and ongoing monitoring - ensuring Roblox's relationships with partners such as payment processors meet regulatory expectations and internal risk standards.
You Have:- 8+ years of experience in financial crime compliance, with deep expertise in KYC, AML, and/or sanctions programs, preferably at a global fintech, payments company, financial institution, or an in-app economy company.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in law, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Direct experience building or operationalizing KYC/CDD programs, including vendor selection, workflow design, and quality assurance.
- Strong working knowledge of BSA/AML regulatory requirements, OFAC sanctions frameworks, and relevant international equivalents.
- Experience filing SARs and managing interactions with FinCEN, OFAC, or other financial regulatory authorities.
- Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into scalable operational processes and product controls.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience influencing Product and Engineering teams on compliance design.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and regulators.
- Relevant certification (e.g., CAMS, CGSS) is strongly preferred.
