The Opportunity

The Senior Payment Operations Specialist, Infrastructure and Network Enablement will lead the successful execution of strategic payment initiatives while driving operational excellence across Flywire's global payment network. The role is accountable for end-to-end project delivery, incident management, partner/bank performance and operational governance, ensuring payment capabilities are delivered safely, efficiently and at scale.

The successful candidate will work across Product, Engineering, Treasury, Network, Compliance and Operations to drive execution, remove blockers and continuously improve operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Governance

  • Drive the successful execution of strategic payment initiatives from planning through production, ensuring operational readiness and cross-functional alignment.
  • Coordinate execution across Product, Network, Treasury, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Manage project dependencies, track milestones, and identify risks to project timelines.
  • Provide regular, concise status updates to stakeholders, highlighting potential blockers and proposed solutions.
  • Contribute to operational readiness plans for new markets, products, and payment capabilities.

Incident and Operational Excellence
  • Support the incident management framework across Operations.
  • Contribute to major incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews to minimize recurrence.
  • Track operational metrics such as incident resolution time and SLA adherence.

Partner and Bank Performance
  • Assist in the governance of payment partners and banking relationships.
  • Help develop and maintain partner/bank scorecards measuring reliability, performance, and operational quality.
  • Identify and document network optimization opportunities to support team strategy.

Leadership & Communication
  • Influence effectively across global stakeholders to drive operational progress.
  • Communicate clear, data-driven updates regarding operational performance.


Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience within Payments, Fintech, Banking, or Financial Services.
  • Proven experience supporting or leading cross-functional project execution.
  • Strong understanding of payments operations, banking infrastructure, and payment life cycles.
  • Demonstrated experience with incident management and operational troubleshooting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $100,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, position level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and several other factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education and training.
