Job Description

We are seeking talented and motivated patent attorneys to apply their legal, technical, and communication skills with engineers in developing the worldwide patent portfolio. The selected candidate will be required to understand the domestic and international patent laws, and work in a cooperative atmosphere to purposefully prosecute and secure patent assets throughout the world. It is beneficial if the candidate has experience in dealing with patent prosecution for client with limited available time per office action and ability to manage high volume of pending applications. Also, we are looking for open mindset to develop and implement new strategies to process high volume of office actions.

Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively managing global prosecution of patent portfolio in light of 3GPP cellular standards to match business needs
  • Leading initiatives to create actionable best practices for managing high-volume caseloads effectively
  • Assigning and overseeing patent prosecution work with internal and external resources
  • Reviewing and advising on work prepared by external resources on patent prosecution matters
  • Working with inventors, technical experts, and other business organizations to understand priorities and challenges
  • Understanding telecommunication standards (e.g., 3GPP technical standards)
  • Collaborating with counsels across multiple jurisdictions to ensure compliance with local jurisdictional practices and law


Qualifications

  • US Patent Attorney/Agent or European Patent Attorney or India Patent Attorney/Agent
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on work experiences at a law firm and/or in a Corporate IP department, including meaningful professional exposure to managing patent portfolios, prosecuting patent assets and developing patent prosecution strategies
  • MSc or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Mathematics or Physics
  • Experience in the field of telecommunications, working knowledge of telecommunication (3GPP) standards and/or experience in telecommunication standards-based patent prosecution
  • Proactive, result-oriented, and strong motivation to excel
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to work under tight timelines

It would be nice if you also had:
  • Experience at a law firm and/or In-house experience with large telecommunication companies
  • Experience in telecommunication (3GPP) standards
  • Collaborative and responsible team-player mentality
  • Goal-oriented forward thinking and acting
