Job Description:

As our Senior Partner, Talent Acquisition & Workforce Management, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future workforce of one of Canada's leading colleges. This is more than a talent acquisition position. It's an opportunity to influence workforce strategy, leverage emerging technologies, partner with senior leaders, and help create exceptional employee and learner experiences.

What You'll Be Doing...

Lead Strategic Talent Acquisition

You'll oversee full-cycle recruitment across a wide range of positions, from specialized operational roles to senior leadership and executive appointments.

You will:
  • Design and execute innovative sourcing and recruitment strategies
  • Build diverse talent pipelines aligned with current and future workforce needs
  • Partner closely with People Leaders to identify talent gaps and hiring priorities
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies that combine social media advertising, passive candidate sourcing, and community partnerships to enhance talent attraction and hiring outcomes
  • Deliver exceptional candidate and hiring manager experiences
  • Advance Algonquin College's position as an employer of choice


Drive Workforce Planning & Workforce Management

Talent acquisition is only part of the equation.

You'll help ensure the College has the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time.

You will:
  • Support workforce forecasting and staffing plans across a 12-month horizon
  • Monitor workforce trends and resource requirements
  • Provide recommendations on workforce allocation and talent strategies
  • Interpret collective agreements and staffing requirements to support operational decisions
  • Help leaders balance service delivery, workforce capacity, and organizational priorities


Leverage AI & Data to Improve Hiring

We believe technology should enhance the human experience, not replace it.

You'll help us explore and expand the use of AI and digital recruitment tools to create more efficient, inclusive, and scalable hiring processes.

You will:
  • Utilize the HRIS and recruitment technologies to optimize workflows
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve sourcing, outreach, candidate engagement, and process efficiency
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches


Be a Trusted Advisor

As a Senior HR Partner, you'll influence hiring decisions at every level of the organization.

You will:
  • Coach and advise leaders on recruitment strategies and market trends
  • Deliver training and guidance on inclusive hiring practices and selection techniques
  • Support leaders in embedding equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging into recruitment decisions
  • Provide advisory support on workforce planning and talent-related challenges
  • Partner with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement


We're looking for someone who sees talent acquisition & workforce management as a strategic business function, not an administrative process.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Credentials
  • Four (4) year degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field, Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
    • Professional HR or recruitment designation/certification such as CHRP/CHRL, or RPR an asset

Experience
  • Preferably five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive HR experience
  • Significant experience in talent acquisition and workforce planning within a complex, multi-stakeholder and multi-union environment.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing stakeholders and building partnerships.
  • Established ability to provide exceptional client service through effective consultation, coaching, communication, problem-solving, and analytical decision-making.


Key qualifications include:
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms, preferably Workday
  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and other digital sourcing tools
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workforce operations in fast-paced, high-volume, or rapidly changing environments where critical staffing decisions must be made quickly and effectively
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on optimizing processes and enhancing the candidate and hiring manager experience
