Full Job Description
Senior Partner, Chief of Staff

We are seeking a Senior Partner, Chief of Staff to serve Cascade's Executive Team and help shape and drive some of the company's highest-priority work. As a 300+ person, 100% employee-owned company that has grown quickly, Cascade needs additional capacity and focus across company strategy, Board governance, executive communications, and cross-functional initiatives.

In this role, you'll take on work that often starts with ambiguity and turn it into a clear plan, recommendation, or finished product. You'll lead executive-level projects, conduct research and analysis, develop Board and companywide materials, strengthen the systems that keep Executive Team work moving, and help ensure executive attention is focused where it matters most.

Exceptional writing and sound judgment are central to this role. You'll write for audiences ranging from the Board and companywide employees to customers and individual executives, often drafting on behalf of senior leaders. You'll also need to influence and move work forward across the organization, frequently without formal authority.

You'll combine transformative AI fluency by leveraging technology to build tools and workflows that enhance team effectiveness with exceptional judgment and emotional intelligence to drive impact across the organization.

If you thrive on ambiguous, high-impact work, are an exceptional communicator, and enjoy building the systems and solutions that help senior leaders and organizations operate at their best, we want to talk to you.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Executive Projects & Operations: Lead complex, cross-functional Executive Team initiatives from concept through completion. Build systems to track commitments and deadlines, continuously improve how executive work gets done. AI Fluency: As a builder who uses technology strategically, identify and implement tools and workflows that enable the team to work more efficiently, support rapid adoption of new processes, and enhance executive productivity.
  • Analysis & Decision Support: Conduct research and analysis, synthesize information from across the company, frame complex questions, and bring clear recommendations that support Executive Team decisions.
  • Executive Writing & Communications: Develop near-final reports, memos, presentations, Board materials, executive communications, and companywide messages, adapting content and voice for different audiences. Use AI thoughtfully as part of the writing and analytical process while maintaining ownership of the final work.
  • Board & Leadership Support: Develop substantive Board materials, maintain Board and Leadership Team processes and calendars, coordinate committee work, and strengthen meeting preparation and follow-through.
  • Executive Prioritization & Access: Help determine what requires executive attention, make prioritization decisions around Executive Team calendars, protect time for high-value work, and partner with the Executive Assistant on scheduling and logistics.
  • Companywide Communications & Events: Coordinate companywide communications and events, reviewing quality, clarity, timing, and alignment while supporting strong All-Hands and other companywide experiences.
  • Executive Outreach & Representation: Prepare executives for conferences, meetings, and external engagements; support follow-through on relationships and commitments; and serve as a trusted first point of contact for appropriate Executive Team requests and issues.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Occasional travel is expected to be approximately 15%, primarily for Board meetings, companywide events, and periodic team or leadership meetings.

Qualifications

Applicants for this role are required to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of professional experience, including significant experience supporting or working alongside executive leadership.
  • Exceptional writing skills and experience developing materials for executive, Board, and companywide audiences. Writing samples will be requested.
  • Experience owning complex, cross-functional projects from beginning to end and building systems to manage and track the work.
  • Experience conducting research and analysis that informs business decisions.
  • Experience using AI in substantive professional work, including research, analysis, and writing.
  • Transformative: Leads AI strategy and redesigns workflows. Demonstrated experience using AI in substantive professional work (research, analysis, writing) and a proven track record as a builder who uses technology to create tools and solutions that enhance team workflows and enable rapid adoption of new processes.

A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:
  • High agency with high emotional intelligence: Proactively takes ownership, navigates ambiguity and barriers, and drives work forward while building trust and bringing others along.
  • Demonstrates strong judgment and the ability to independently shape and drive ambiguous work.
  • Ability to influence, build accountability, and move work forward without formal authority.
  • Experience preparing executives for meetings, conferences, events, and external relationships.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, project management software, and collaboration tools.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors or Managers.
  • Experience in energy, utilities, sustainability, industrial markets, or another technically complex industry.

For candidates whose experience may not align perfectly with all of these preferred skills but who can see themselves adding value in this role, we encourage you to still apply.
