The
Senior Paralegal, Environmental & Regulatory reports to the Supervisor, Paralegal Center of Excellence and supports the Environmental & Regulatory legal team within a large law department at a Fortune 100 international energy company. This role manages a broad range of regulatory, compliance and litigation-support, with emphasis on annual filings, agency requests, legal holds, document production, and regulatory research.
What You'll DoRegulatory Filings & Compliance- Assist with tracking of environmental fines, penalties, and environmental projects.
- Review state agency websites, contact regulators for updates, and maintain internal state checklists and shared workspace materials.
- Prepare and manage annual Financial Assurance filings, including research of federal and state UST, RCRA, and other applicable financial assurance regulations. Coordinate with HS&E and External Reporting to complete and submit annual filings.
- Support FERC annual Interlocking Directorates reporting, including gathering data, preparing filings, tracking responses, drafting reports, and coordinating submission.
Agency Response & Document Production- Assist with document productions in response to agency information requests, including collecting, organizing, and producing documents per required agency specifications.
- Create, maintain, and update Environmental & Regulatory Legal Hold Orders, including adding/releasing custodians and managing responses.
Legal Research & Special Projects- Conduct legal research (including AI-assisted research) and support attorneys with special projects, including regulatory and legislative history research.
- Assist with content management of the Consent Decree Implementation Team (CDIT) SharePoint site and related documentation.
- Maintain the electronic environmental library, organizing research and reference materials.
- Support updates to the Legal Department Emergency Response Toolkit, including regulatory materials, guidance documents, and emergency contact information.
What You'll Bring - Required- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Bachelor's degree
- 6 or more years of paralegal experience supporting environmental, regulatory, or compliance matters in a law firm or corporate legal department

- Experience with SharePoint, document management systems, or other legal technology tools
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage detailed, deadline-driven work
- Ability to learn quickly and apply Company policies and procedures
- Experience supporting document productions and litigation or agency response workflows
- Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively to improve work quality and decision-making
Compensation Range This position has a base salary range of $111,600- $136,400.00.
