OverviewWho we're looking forToyota's Supply Chain Planning (Parts)/Supply Chain (SCM-SCP) Packaging Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Packaging - Analyst Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead/manage the design/development of packaging with Toyota Suppliers to ensure that parts arrive to the customer in a high state of quality. Must be able to clearly communicate Toyota Standards and requirements for packaging to be designed to go through various Supply Chains and production process. Must be able to gain consensus with the working groups within the supply chain to ensure packaging adheres to strict Safety and Quality standards to ensure no disruption in the Logistics Supply Chain.
What you'll be doing - Lead the packaging design/development for Toyota Parts to support Export production and/or service part fulfillment
- Supporting packaging studies for Cost Estimates and Make v Buy Studies
- Work with Suppliers to ensure external packaging design meets Toyota Standards
- Lead the Project Management to ensure packaging is designed, tested, and procured to meet project timeline
- Lead the problem solving and counter measure Safety/Quality issues due to packaging
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in utilizing packaging design software to create innovative packaging solutions and designs
- Set the NA Packaging standards that will help Suppliers understand sustainability solutions to packaging designs
- Lead in the forecasting of Packaging Investments to help ensure new model projects stay within budget guidelines
- Lead the proposal of budgets and funding requirements for packaging supply chain loops
- Write RINGIs and obtain Executive approval for procurement of packaging
- Lead the fabricators to develop innovative packaging to reduce overall costs and support Toyota sustainability goals
- Work with key stakeholders to understand environmental regulations and develop supporting systems along with processes to ensure Toyota is compliant
- Develop and implement packaging strategies to support Toyota in cost reduction and sustainability targets
What you bring - Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and/or Packaging/Industrial) and/or 4+ years of equivalent packaging / supply chain / project management / operations experience.
- 3+ years of project management experience
- Microsoft Excel/Access knowledge and understanding to analyze data quickly and efficiently
- Willing to travel (Domestically/International) up to 25%
- Willing to work overtime
- Ability to manipulate and organize large data set
- Ability to make presentations verbally and in writing
Added bonus if you have - Toyota Production understanding and experience.
