What you'll be doing...Your responsibility revolves around the construction and maintenance of plant infrastructure, design, and engineering as well as providing a route analysis of underground & aerial fiber optic installations.In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing project plans and driving project timelines, due dates as well as providing project updates to leadership. These projects can include but are not limited to key business initiatives such as Fiber to the Cell and Fiber to the Premises.
- Developing processes for constructing and maintaining the outside plant infrastructure based on the build-out of the network and needs of the business.
- Providing guidance to junior engineers in order to monitor the infrastructure and troubleshoot and repair issues that arise with the fiber and equipment.
- Directing internal departments and liaison with residential and business end-users, building contractors, and property owners to implement solutions appropriately.
- Developing service order requirements based on external and internal customers.
- Developing and implementing engineering projects, working with the appropriate teams and utilizing resources to ensure the success of the project.
What we're looking for...You know a lot about outside plant engineering practices. You have knowledge of Hi-Capacity Services, Fiber-to-the-Cell, Fiber-to-the Premise, FIOS, Network Transformation and CORE procedures. You enjoy analyzing problems and having the autonomy to select and implement the right solutions. While you work well independently, you are also a great team player and enjoy leading colleagues and coordinating efforts to ensure best outcomes.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Fiber engineering experience or construction experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
- Valid Driver's License.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields.
- Ability to multitask.
- Strong planning and time management skills.
- Good leadership abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Where you'll be workingIn this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
