Full Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Asset-Based Lending Originator within our Commercial Banking team, you will be responsible for deal structuring, financial analysis, and overall risk assessment.  You will originate asset based loans sized from $5mm to upwards of $250mm in in partnership with our Middle Market Banking and Financial Sponsor Group coverage teams.  You will work within complex deal teams to originate and executive on Asset-Based Lending transactions, including debt capital markets, commercial & investment banking coverage, and credit.  Our Originators are responsible for originating and structuring, and lead deal teams for syndication and the ongoing portfolio management of asset-based loans.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Interacting with clients, prospects, sponsors, bankers and risk partners within JPMorgan, with initial primary origination coverage being Colorado, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Nevada
  • Leading the structuring, diligence, and overall execution of transactions
  • Cultivating both internal and external relationships to establish a direct calling program on existing prospects and clients of the firm
  • Source both new and incremental asset based lending financing opportunities
  • Developing marketing materials, presentations, and loan documentation
  • Analyzing market trends and using analytics to identify trends/improve outcomes
  • Reviewing work prepared by analysts/associates

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Ten plus years of experience in asset-based lending/commercial banking
  • Five years of asset based lending origination experience
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information and help develop innovative client solutions
  • Knowledge of corporate banking, credit and debt capital markets products; understanding of Commercial Banking products and services
  • Ability to collaborate with internal partners and resources, and demonstrated experience of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage, prioritize, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business and control partners

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and formal credit training preferred
  • Sales management, business development skills, proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Strong creative solution, problem solving abilities, flexible to changing business priorities and ability to multitask
  • Excellent business judgment, strategic thinking, self-directed, proactive and creative
  • An existing network and track record of success as an Originator in the target Markets is preferred
