Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support enterprise database operations in a healthcare environment. The role will administer, monitor, and tune Oracle databases across production and non-production environments while supporting backup and recovery, high availability, patching, upgrades, performance optimization, security, and incident resolution. The DBA will collaborate with application teams on database changes and release activities and participate in scheduled maintenance windows and an on-call rotation.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer, monitor, and tune Oracle databases, including Oracle 12c, 19c, and later versions, across production and non-production environments.
• Manage database backup and recovery using RMAN.
• Support and maintain high-availability environments using Oracle Data Guard and RAC.
• Perform database patching and upgrades.
• Execute database changes during scheduled off-hours maintenance windows.
• Perform capacity planning and database performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement appropriate resolutions.
• Support application teams with schema changes, database refreshes, and release activities.
• Maintain database security, access controls, and audit compliance.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to database incidents as required.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle database administration, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Strong expertise with RMAN, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle RAC.
• Experience supporting production and non-production database environments.
• Experience with database patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Strong incident troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience supporting database security, access controls, and audit compliance.
• Ability to execute database changes during scheduled off-hours maintenance windows.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience administering MySQL databases.
• Experience working in healthcare or other regulated industries.
• Experience supporting enterprise application release and database refresh activities.
