We are seeking a Senior Operations Quality Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience to become a key part of the Operations Quality Team in the Precision Metal Fabrication (PMF) value stream. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction, and Continuous Improvement.
This is a 4th shift position: 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6:00am-6:00pm; plus one 4-hour shift on either Monday or Thursday.There is an additional 8% shift differential offered as part of this schedule.
What You Will Do
- Baseline factory metrics (Scrap, Rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
- Engage Manufacturing Defect Prevention Teams (DPT) to ensure alignment on top priorities (using baseline data and future forecast) to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis and associated Corrective Action Implementation.
- Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead MFG team discussions to drive process enhancements to reduce variation.
- Lead/Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand.
- Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team.
- Integrate product and process verifications such as First Articles and audits throughout value stream processes to prevent quality escapes, optimize throughput and assure on-time delivery of products and services.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and five (5) years related Quality Engineering experience
- Manufacturing process experience in one of the following: (assembly, inspection, test)
- Experience in identifying root cause and initiation/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions
- Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications
- Experience with industry technical standards, interpreting drawings, work instructions

Qualifications We Prefer
- Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques.
- Previous experience managing cross functional process improvement teams with technical expertise.
- Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
- Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications
- Proficient in the use of pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping
- Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)
- Existing US DoD Secret (or higher) clearance
- Familiarity with GD&T and technical print reading
- Knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrications, hardware installation, and structural assembly techniques

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
