Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of Housekeeping, Front Office, and Engineering Departments.

Full Job Description
The Senior Operations Manager oversees the daily performance of the Housekeeping, Front Office & Engineering Departments, ensuring all operations are executed with professionalism, efficiency, and a consistently high standard of guest service. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the hotel, while effectively managing labor, supplies, and departmental expenses. The Senior Operations Manager supports a culture of hospitality by leading with attentiveness, courtesy, and accountability, ensuring every guest experiences exceptional service during their stay.

NUTS AND BOLTS OF THE JOB
  • Front Office Operations
    • Support the Front Office leadership team in delivering exceptional guest service and guest recovery.
    • Assist with hotel inventory management and room availability optimization.
    • Provide operational leadership and floor support during high-demand periods.
    • Assist with shift coverage only when operationally necessary.

    Housekeeping Operations
    • Partner with Housekeeping leadership to monitor quality standards and execution.
    • Oversee General Clean initiatives and quality assurance programs.
    • Support linen inventory management, counting, and controls.
    • Assist with hotel-wide cleanliness initiatives and operational projects.

    Engineering & Facilities
    • Work closely with Engineering leadership to strengthen preventive maintenance programs.
    • Monitor General Maintenance standards and painter work quality.
    • Support Out of Order (OOO) and Out of Service (OOS) room inventory management.
    • Participate in Fire & Life Safety initiatives and compliance efforts.
    • Assist in inventory management for engineering supplies, including filters, light bulbs, and other operational materials.

    Hotel-Wide Projects
    • Serve as a key operational resource for cross-functional initiatives directed by the General Manager.
    • Lead and participate in special projects designed to improve efficiency, guest satisfaction, and overall hotel performance.
    • Collaborate with department heads to identify opportunities for operational improvement.

    Programming & Activations
    • Act as the primary operational point of contact for hotel programming and activations.
    • Coordinate operational execution and cost control for recurring events and experiences, including initiatives such as Broadway Tuesdays, Breaking Sounds, and future hotel programming.
    • Ensure activations are executed seamlessly while maintaining service standards and profitability.

    Financial & Leadership Development
    • Receive direct mentorship from the General Manager in:
      • Hotel financial management and P&L analysis
      • Revenue management fundamentals
      • Labor management and cost controls
      • Strategic planning
      • Executive decision-making
    • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to operational and financial strategy discussions to prepare for future advancement opportunities.

    What Makes This Role Unique

    This is not a traditional operations manager position. The Senior Operations Manager will gain direct exposure to nearly every aspect of hotel management while working alongside the General Manager and department leaders. The role is intentionally designed to develop the next generation of hotel executives through hands-on operational leadership and executive-level mentorship.

    YOUR ROCK STAR EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive hotel operations experience, preferably in Rooms Division, Housekeeping, or Operations.
    • Previous supervisory or department leadership experience strongly preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Demonstrated commitment to guest service excellence.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence teams without direct authority.
    • Analytical mindset with an interest in financial performance and operational metrics.
    • Passion for learning and professional growth within hospitality leadership.
