Role Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer specializing in Okta Access Gateway (OAG) to support and enhance our enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) ecosystem. This role will be responsible for the onboarding, integration, administration, operational support, and resiliency of applications utilizing Okta Access Gateway within hybrid and cloud environments. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for legacy application modernization, secure authentication patterns, SSO enablement, application migrations, platform operations, and production support, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable access to critical business applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer, maintain, and support the enterprise Okta Access Gateway (OAG) platform, including configuring and onboarding applications.
- Integrate web-based, legacy, and on-premises applications with modern authentication solutions and support migrations from traditional methods.
- Manage application authentication, authorization, access control, and user access policies, partnering with application teams for onboarding requirements.
- Support authentication and access management solutions leveraging Okta Access Gateway, Okta Workforce Identity, Microsoft Entra ID, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), Kerberos, LDAP, Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA), MFA, and Adaptive Authentication.
- Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, federation, and SSO issues, participating in identity modernization initiatives and ensuring alignment with Zero Trust and Least Privilege principles.
- Work directly with application owners to onboard new applications, perform assessments, configure required components, and validate end-to-end flows.
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for production incidents and service requests, troubleshooting failures, analyzing logs, and participating in incident response.
- Ensure high availability and resiliency of Okta Access Gateway infrastructure, monitoring health, capacity, and performance, and participating in disaster recovery planning.
- Implement and maintain security controls supporting regulatory and audit requirements, participating in security reviews, and supporting access certification processes.
Required Skills:- Deep expertise in Okta Access Gateway (OAG) administration, onboarding, integration, operational support, and resiliency.
- Strong background in Identity and Access Management (IAM) ecosystems.
- Proficiency with modern authentication solutions including Okta Workforce Identity, Microsoft Entra ID, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), Kerberos, LDAP, Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA), MFA, and Adaptive Authentication.
- Experience with legacy application modernization, secure authentication patterns, and SSO enablement.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex authentication, authorization, federation, and SSO issues.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust and Least Privilege principles.
- Experience in application assessment, configuration of headers, policies, connectors, and access rules.
- Proven ability to provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support, including incident response and log analysis.
- Familiarity with platform resiliency, disaster recovery planning, and security compliance.
- Multifactor Authentication (MFA).
Qualifications:- 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated expertise as a Senior Engineer specializing in Okta Access Gateway.
