Full Job Description
Join our team as a Senior Odoo Developer

As we scale rapidly, we are implementing Odoo as our core ERP platform to unify procurement, inventory, trade finance, CRM, and accounting workflows. We are looking for an experienced Odoo specialist to own this implementation from configuration through go-live and beyond. This role will be the first internal Odoo expert and will play a key role in building the company's operational infrastructure from the ground up.

About the Role

This is a hands-on implementation role. You will be responsible for translating RoboTools Canada's operational requirements into a fully configured, production-ready Odoo environment. You will work directly with leadership to scope, configure, test, and deploy Odoo modules, and will provide training and ongoing support to staff post-launch.

Key Responsibilities
  • ERP Implementation Leadership: Lead the full Odoo implementation lifecycle-requirements gathering, module selection, configuration, data migration, UAT, go-live, and post-launch support.
  • Module Configuration: Configure and customize core modules including Inventory, Purchase, Sales, Accounting/Finance, CRM, and Manufacturing (MRP) to reflect our import-distribution business model.
  • Logistics Workflows: Map multi-currency purchase orders, landed cost tracking, and sea freight logistics into Odoo workflows.
  • Integrations: Identify and implement integrations with third-party tools (banking feeds, shipping providers, customs documentation) via Odoo connectors or APIs.
  • Data Migration: Extract, clean, and migrate data from existing spreadsheets and legacy systems into Odoo with accuracy and auditability.
  • Custom Development Oversight: Write or oversee Python/OWL customizations and custom reports where out-of-the-box functionality is insufficient.
  • User Training: Develop training materials and deliver hands-on training sessions for operations, finance, and sales teams.
  • Documentation: Produce and maintain clear technical and end-user documentation for all configured workflows and customizations.
  • Ongoing Support: Act as the internal Odoo subject-matter expert post-go-live, managing upgrades, troubleshooting issues, and iterating on system improvements.

Qualifications & Experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on Odoo implementation experience (Odoo 16 or 17 preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Odoo for import/distribution, wholesale, or supply-chain-intensive businesses.
  • Deep expertise in Inventory, Purchase, Sales, and Accounting/Finance modules.
  • Proficiency in Python and basic familiarity with the Odoo ORM and QWeb templating for customizations.
  • Experience with data migration (Excel/CSV 12 Odoo) and data integrity validation.
  • Ability to gather and document business requirements and translate them into system configurations.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.

Bonus Points
  • Odoo Certified Professional designation (any stream).
  • Background in robotics, industrial equipment, or technical product distribution is a strong asset.

Benefits & Perks
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements in the Vancouver area.
  • A pivotal, high-ownership role in building the operational backbone of a growing Canadian robotics distributor.
  • Direct collaboration with senior leadership-your recommendations will be heard and acted upon.
  • Opportunity to grow into a long-term Head of ERP / Systems role as the company scales.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Job Type: Full-time | 6-month contract | Hybrid

Compensation: An hourly salary range of $40/h to $65/h, based on experience and qualifications.

Starting date: ASAP

Work Location: Delta, BC
