Job Title: Senior NPI Engineer
Location: Olathe, KS
Department: New Product Introduction
Reports to: Director of NPI

The Senior NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that our innovative designs are transitioned into effective and sustainable production. Our life saving products require predictable delivery of high quality, cost-effective production over 5+ year product lifetimes. The Senior NPI Engineer will collaborate with Vantage MedTech's Engineering and Manufacturing teams to provide input on the device design's manufacturability, and plan and execute the transfer of these new products to our manufacturing facility. This individual is responsible for ensuring that robust manufacturing processes are created, updated, and in compliance with company standards, ISO, and GMP as required. In addition, you will help drive improvement projects that impact quality and productivity.

This role requires demonstrated leadership capability and proven knowledge of design for manufacturability and assembly, product manufacturing processes, qualifications, and the transfer of new designs into manufacturing. Many of our products involve the assembly of electronic, software, and mechanical sub-systems. Experience with products containing electronic assemblies is highly preferred.

**This is not a remote opportunity. This position is based in Olathe, KS. Candidate must either be local or willing to re-locate to the Kansas City metro area. Vantage MedTech does not offer relocation assistance at this time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume responsibility for project success as it relates to New Product Introduction deliverables throughout the Product Realization Process.
    • Lead and manage NPI activities for new products, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Act as the primary interface between development and manufacturing during design transfer activities - ensuring manufacturability, testability, and scalability of new products in manufacturing.
    • Collaborate with appropriate parties for design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) initiatives to optimize product design for efficient and cost-effective production.
    • Develop, refine, and continuously improve manufacturing processes - both product specific and general manufacturing operations.
    • Identify and resolve technical challenges related to NPI projects, working collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams.
    • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve manufacturing processes for new products.
    • Support the development of cost-effective manufacturing strategies and identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures.
    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior / early-career NPI engineers.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing organization.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Program Management.
  • Experience working in a client-facing role.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to execute projects.
  • Demonstrated project budget management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, ISO 13485 and production requirements.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex systems and break them down into a series of clear and organized parts
