Senior Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) & Materials Engineer
Aircraft/Aerospace/Space Experience

Position starts at 140k and will increase based on experience.Benefits are available (Health/ Dental/Vision/401k etc..)

Overview Serve as a senior NDE and materials engineer supporting spacecraft / NASA programs with expertise in methods such as Xray, ultrasonic, and eddy current inspection. Lead development, qualification, and assessment of NDE procedures, systems, and personnel certifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and approve NDE procedures, inspection reports, and NDE system documentation.
  • Analyze and resolve NDErelated issues, driving closure actions across programs.
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations for program and engineering forums.
  • Develop NDE requirements, implement procedures, perform lab inspections, and generate inspection reports.
  • Support operation and maintenance of NASA's stateoftheart NDE laboratory and associated systems.
  • Participate in ERBs, IPTs, and other technical forums, providing expertise on metallic and nonmetallic materials.
  • Advise vendors on qualification and acceptance testing to ensure compliance with NASA requirements.
  • Represent NASA NDE/M&P engineering at government and industry technical interchange meetings, working groups, and conferences.
  • Perform occasional travel and additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in engineering or science with 5-10 years of industry experience; formal NDE education desirable.
  • ASNT Level III certification (preferred but not required).
  • Experience supporting NDE development, testing, and evaluation for NASA or aerospace programs.
  • Familiarity with metallic and nonmetallic materials, including welding, additive manufacturing, composites, and repair processes.
  • Knowledge of fracture control, materials compatibility, and aerospace design allowables for spacecraft, aircraft, and GSE.
