Description

Are you an ambitious Civil Engineer looking to advance your career? Do you enjoy leading teams big and small? Do you enjoy a role that offers a variety of projects and tasks? Then GPI is right for you! GPI's Bridgewater, NJ office seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Municipal Engineering Team. This person will review civil engineering plans, including public infrastructure and private, commercial, and residential development plans, to ensure compliance with relevant codes.

What You Will be Doing:
  • Review of civil engineering plans, including public infrastructure, private, commercial, and residential development plans to ensure compliance with relevant codes
  • Evaluation and review of stormwater management permits and plans
  • Mentoring of staff on engineering and plan preparation
  • Interact with clients regarding ongoing and future projects
  • Attend meetings, including staff meetings and municipal board meetings, as needed
  • Assistance with public works projects for clients
  • Performing Planning Board and Zoning Board reviews

What you need:
  • BS Civil Engineering with NJ/PA PE license
  • 5 to 15 years of PA experience in the design of roads, grading & drainage
  • Construction, Construction Inspection, and/or Construction Support experience
  • Knowledgeable in Stormwater Management rules and proficient in Stormwater Management design, DEP land use permitting such as FHA & wetlands opened, and Municipal Land Use Law
  • Experience working for Counties and Municipalities
  • Familiarity with testifying before municipal boards
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects
  • Rutgers CAIT Training / Certifications in ADA Design


Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
