Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Senior Multi-Modality Technologist is an experienced professional who functions within multiple modality services. In this role, the incumbent will support a collaborative team of technologists by providing day-to-day guidance and mentorship and supporting quality assurance and control activities. The incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving images, and will be responsible for the care of the patient.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and all faculty and staff.
  • Perform imaging (CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine) and general radiological procedures:
    • Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided. Review all questionable orders with the radiologist and, at the radiologist's discretion, the referring physician.
    • Position patient and select appropriate options to ensure best-case imaging.
    • Observe patient while in the modality being covered for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instruction.
    • Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.
    • Offer detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriate.
    • Administer contrast media via appropriate peripheral IV access as ordered and directed by staff.
  • Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis, maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data: schedule PM, perform QA, maintain records required for and participate in inspections.
  • Perform clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient records.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new or less experienced technologists. Share knowledge and offer guidance/mentorship to facilitate team collaboration and a supportive environment.
  • May assist manager to ensure adequate coverage and address related issues as directed.
  • May participate in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure quality patient care. Bring safety and quality events, concerns and needs to debriefs/safety huddles. Collaborate with team members on quality-related projects.
  • Assist manager on Quality Control and Assurance measures, including testing and auditing as appropriate.
  • Increase transparency, encourage event reporting, and advance the safety culture by participating in and facilitating safety huddles, patient safety activities, culture reinforcement, and shared learning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalency.
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, including exposure to a wide range of CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine studies.
  • NYS License, ARRT certified (CT, MRI, and/or PET/Nuclear Medicine).
  • New York BLS certified
  • Multiple modality Registry certified
  • Demonstrated leadership proficiency in a team environment, including communication, training/knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated participation in continuous improvement or quality initiatives.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to de-escalate stressful situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a culturally diverse staff and patient/family population, demonstrating tact, respect, and empathy.
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong aptitude for detail, flexibility, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be able to make sound judgments and execute the appropriate actions based on the needs of patients and knowledge of facility policies and procedures.
  • Must be an engaged team member, demonstrating collaboration, inclusion, reliability, and adaptability to new and changing situations.
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email systems, etc.
  • Will provide coverage as requested throughout practices as needed (multiple sites and flexible schedule).
  • Prior experience supporting training and onboarding activities is preferred.
  • State license to inject contrast preferred.

Hourly Rate Ranges: $63.10 - $73.50

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
