Job DescriptionDescription SAIC is seeking a Modeling Engineer-Scientist to support the Next Generation Submarine Battery program in Crane, IN.
NOTE: This position is 100% remote; however, candidate must be able to travel to Crane, IN approximately twice per month.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and validate thermal and electrochemical models to support battery system design and performance assessment
- Apply MATLAB for model development, simulation, and analysis
- Support modeling activities related to multi-physics interactions within NiZn, Lead-Acid, and Lithium battery systems
- Assist with developing complex thermal and electrochemical models
Qualifications Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related scientific discipline and nine (9) years of experience; Master's degree and seven (7) years of experience; PhD and four (4) years of experience
- Experience with thermal modeling
- Proficiency in MATLAB
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, technical environment
- Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance; can start once interim clearance is granted. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in electrical and chemical modeling
- Familiarity with ANSYS thermal modeling tools
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
