We are hiring for Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist position at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, AK!

Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hr Variable shifts, 40 hours per week.

$7,500 Hiring Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

The Laboratory Technical Specialist is responsible for daily operations, ensuring technical competency of the clinical, technical and scientific aspects and technical expertise of the laboratory. Provides accurate, timely and cost effective service to all laboratory customers.

Required Qualifications:
  • Coursework/Training Completion of education and training equivalent to the requirements for a Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology program recognized by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), and successful completion of an examination at the MT or CLS II level administered by an agency approved by the NCHAA, or equivalent.
  • Upon hire: National Laboratory Medical/Clinical Scientist/Technologist.
  • Within 30 days of hire: Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • 5 years in the clinical laboratory, which includes one or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems.
