Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of capital projects to meet budget, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings including P&ID, fabrication, and schematics.
  • Evaluate Bill of Materials (BOM) for compliance with standards and contract requirements.
  • Perform pump design, hydraulic calculations, and equipment selection.
  • Assemble and approve specifications and data sheets for project components.
  • Specify materials for purchasing and manage vendor communications.
  • Contribute to customer and vendor meetings with insightful input.

Full Job Description
We have a great opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer experienced in the water or wastewater field or in liquid processing to join our growing business. As the senior Engineer you will work closely with the project management team in the overall execution of projects ranging from $1 - $20m and be responsible for the engineering support and deliverables required for a given project.

About the role:
    • Engineer driving the execution of Capital Projects within budget, schedule and to customer's satisfaction.
    • Review and approve various drawings including P&ID, fabrication, single line, schematics, and other project related drawings.
    • Reviews Bill of Materials (BOM) for equipment / component design for compliance with engineering principles, contract requirements, and applicable standards.
    • Perform pump design & selection, hydraulic calculations, valve selections, instrumentation selection, and other equipment selection that meet contractual requirements and applicable standards.
    • Assemble, review, and / or approve specifications, data sheets, or other detailed information for specific components related to the project.
    • Specifying materials for purchasing including identifying vendors, initiating requests for quotation, making best price/best value purchasing determinations, specification compliance and tracking delivery of material.
    • Attend customer meetings / vendor meetings and offer meaningful input as it relates to the project.
    • Assist in the gathering of costs for equipment, labor estimates, subcontractor estimates, and other costs in preparation of proposals and commercial quotes.


Requirements

About you:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ME, ChE,) from an accredited, four-year university - ME preferred
  • Demonstrated engineering experience in the water or wastewater field or fluid process engineering
  • Experience with AutoCAD and applications is a plus
  • Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Team oriented and Customer Focused
