Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities- Assist in determining the annual budget of the Spares Warehouse.
- Collaborate with management to develop, streamline, and implement materials management Standard Operating Procedures across all Canadian divisions.
- Responsible for the physical inventory at all Canadian facilities. Directly responsible for warehousing, distribution, and logistics at the Spares Warehouse.
- Responsible for inventory accuracy, availability, carrying costs and depreciation.
- Develop and implement inventory management processes, including but not limited to TX (time expired) processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize the recertification process, including UDP program.
- Responsible for material tracking practices related to the ERP system, including Standard Operating Procedures, data accuracy, and data relevance.
- Develop, oversee, and communicate objectives and initiatives pertaining to materials departments.
- Develop project schedules, cost estimates, logistics plans, and continuous improvement initiatives for capital projects and remote inventory.
- Participate in the development and implementation of short- and long-term goals, policies, and procedures with internal stakeholders that interface with the materials departments.
- Oversee the reception, handling, distribution, and storage of materials and supplies at the Spares Warehouse.
- Develop strategies and policies to optimize short and long-term storage across company divisions, preventing loss and damage.
- Provide strategic directions to all direct reports within the Spares Warehouse department.
- Supervise all Spares Warehouse staff, including delegation, coaching, and mentoring, performance evaluation and progressive discipline.
- Identify risks related to Avmax's supply chain, internal auditing, customer needs, and external environment, developing and implementing risk mitigation policies and procedures.
- Negotiate contracts with current and new freight forward vendors i.e., FEDEX.
- Serve as operational and technical resource to materials management in the communication and resolution of related issues.
- Ensure compliance with related internal policies and general procedures, including Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, and Health and Safety.
- Ensure all materials within Avmax Canadian locations are optimized for sale, maintenance, repairs, or other needs as required.
- Other tasks as required.
Qualifications- 5+ years of progressive experience in sales, warehouse and/or purchasing, or a combination of related experience and a degree or diploma in a related program(s).
- Work and communicate effectively within a team environment to accomplish team goals.
- Demonstrate sound analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Sound team leader skills with the ability to guide and lead employees through daily tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Sound knowledge of ERP software.
Experience- 5+ years of experience in a material management.
- Aviation and/or Sales/Purchasing experience is considered an asset.
