Position is located at our corporate headquarters in Plano, TX.

What You'll Do
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Master Production Scheduling

  • Develop, maintain, and publish the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on the approved SIOP supply plan to support customer demand, inventory objectives, and operational performance.
  • Balance production priorities, material availability, and capacity constraints to optimize schedule stability, throughput, and on-time delivery.
  • Manage schedule execution within established planning horizons, enforcing change control and minimizing disruption to production commitments.
  • Lead and develop the production planning team to ensure consistent execution of planning and scheduling processes.


Planning Systems & Master Data Governance

  • Own planning and scheduling master data within SyteLine, including planning parameters, time fences, order policies, safety stock levels, lead times, and item lifecycle controls.
  • Establish and maintain planning data for new products, engineering changes, and lifecycle transitions to ensure planning system accuracy and schedule integrity.
  • Govern planning system configuration, planning methodologies, and data quality through ongoing audits, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Material Availability & Constraint Management

  • Ensure material readiness to support production schedules through capable-to-build analysis, shortage management, and cross-functional coordination with Procurement, Operations, and Engineering.
  • Identify and resolve material constraints, inventory imbalances, and supply risks that may impact production, customer commitments, or product launches.
  • Manage planning impacts associated with engineering changes, product transitions, phase-ins, phase-outs, and end-of-life activities to minimize disruption and obsolescence.


Capacity Planning & Production Readiness

  • Develop and maintain capacity planning models to align labor, equipment, and manufacturing resources with demand requirements.
  • Monitor workload and capacity utilization, identify bottlenecks, and recommend corrective actions to maintain schedule performance.
  • Support production readiness for new product introductions, qualification builds, product launches, and lifecycle transitions by ensuring alignment of material, capacity, and scheduling requirements.


New Product Introduction & Product Lifecycle Management

  • Lead planning and scheduling activities for new product introductions from prototype through launch and production stabilization.
  • Evaluate schedule feasibility, material readiness, and capacity requirements for NPI gate reviews and product launch decisions.
  • Manage scheduling and planning activities related to engineering changes, product revisions, phase-ins, phase-outs, and end-of-life programs, ensuring seamless product transitions and continuity of supply.
  • Own planning-related item lifecycle management, including new item setup, revisions, status changes, and product obsolescence planning.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business or a related field preferred; MBA or Master's degree strongly preferred. Relevant industry experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in production scheduling, master scheduling, or materials planning in a manufacturing environment required. Experience with electronic components preferred.

Certificates & Licenses: Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.

Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ownership of a master production schedule in a multi-level BOM, configured-product environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced ERP proficiency, preferably SyteLine, including MRP/APS planning, scheduling, item master management, planning parameters, and master data governance.
  • Strong understanding of supply planning, MRP, APS, capacity planning, master production scheduling, and inventory planning methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of planning system configuration and governance, including time fences, order policies, safety stock strategies, lead times, lot sizing, replenishment methods, and planning master data controls.
  • Experience maintaining item master data, planning BOMs, routings, work center calendars, and lifecycle status controls to support planning accuracy and schedule integrity.
  • Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) planning processes, including prototype, pilot, qualification, launch, and production ramp scheduling.
  • Experience supporting Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities, including engineering changes, phase-in/phase-out planning, product transitions, and end-of-life inventory management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate material, capacity, and schedule constraints and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills with the ability to drive alignment across Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain functions without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, data integrity, schedule performance, and operational effectiveness.
Preferred
  • ASCM/APICS CPIM certification.
  • Transit, bus, rail, or heavy vehicle OEM or aftermarket experience.
  • Experience scheduling retrofit or program-based builds alongside recurring production.
  • Exposure to engineering change control and formal NPI gate processes.
  • Lean or Six Sigma training.
Systems and Tools
  • Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) 10.x - APS and MRP, Planner Workbench, Planning Detail, Scheduler, item master, production orders
  • Advanced Excel - Power Query, pivot models, lookup logic - for CTB, buy plan, and load models
  • Power BI or equivalent for schedule adherence and load reporting
  • PLM and engineering change system of record; document control workflow
