About This Role:

The Senior Manufacturing Supervisor leads a dynamic team of Manufacturing Supervisors to ensure the successful implementation of processes that drive manufacturing performance and quality. Promotes a culture of teamwork that embraces trust, accountability, and continuous improvement to meet and exceed operational goals and objectives.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:

  • Implements and drives operational initiatives designed to improve the workflow and processes of manufacturing activities. Clearly communicates new processes, expectations and how to measure the effectiveness of the change. Directs supervisory team members to audit and monitor the new processes to ensure consistency throughout the Manufacturing department. Communicates the results to management.
  • Provides hands-on supervision of manufacturing supervisory team members. Identifies and recommends training and development opportunities to drive a culture of teamwork with high quality output. Continuously communicates operational standards and process improvement initiatives to the team. Clearly communicates how each team member contributes to the success of the team and the overall organization.
  • Mentors and develops Manufacturing Supervisors to ensure they have the necessary resources to be successful in their roles.
  • Identifies processes in manufacturing workflows that need improvement. Conducts gap analyses to determine the need for processes. Meets with other departments to gather additional workflow information. Assesses and analyzes processes for efficiency and quality, research cause and effect, and clearly communicates the issues and recommendations to the appropriate strategic work group or work partner.
  • Monitors output, processes, labor efficiencies, direct operating expenses, and quality indicators to determine adjustments to workforce that positively affect results. Identifies work groups that require additional training or development to meet the skill set of each work area. Ensures that each work area is operating at capacity without affecting the quality of the product.
  • Tracks manufacturing expenses against the budget and recommends measures for cost reduction as well as any need for additional resources. Provides capital and expense requirements for annual budgeting process.
  • Prepares and submits operating reports to management to inform them of the current manufacturing status and to make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Fosters and maintains a safe working environment by adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Work schedule flexibility is required due to overlap of shifts.


Education/Training Required and Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study, or equivalent work experience.


Experience Required and Preferred:

  • Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment with multiple products.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.

  • Ability to collect, analyze, and present statistically valid manufacturing data (cost, capacity, ROI, yield, utilization, and efficiencies).
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other related safety requirements for manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of technical aspects of the manufacturing process from raw material to final product. Knowledge of physical mechanisms and engineering phenomena associated with the manufacturing and performance of products.
  • Excellent computer knowledge, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

The salary for this opportunity ranges from $73,000 to $95,000

The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations in regard to pay. The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined by qualifications, prior experience, other job-related factors, and geographic location.
