Senior Manufacturing Financial Analyst - Aurora Colorado

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Manufacturing Financial Analyst to support our manufacturing operations through accurate cost accounting, financial analysis, forecasting, and operational reporting. This role partners closely with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Production leaders to drive financial visibility, strengthen controls, and identify opportunities to improve cost performance. The ideal candidate brings strong cost accounting expertise, experience within a manufacturing environment, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
Your Day-to-Day
Forecasting & Financial Planning
• Lead annual, quarterly, and monthly forecasting activities in partnership with cost center managers.
• Analyze budgets and forecasts, identify significant variances, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Prepare and distribute cost center reports and assist business leaders with variance analysis and corrective actions.
• Research and analyze production variances, including material usage, labor efficiency, and purchase price variances.
Standard Costing & Inventory Management
• Lead the review and maintenance of finished goods standard costing.
• Review production order activity to ensure financial accuracy and timely closure.
• Support annual cost revaluation activities and validate bills of materials (BOMs) and routings for costing accuracy.
• Coordinate annual physical inventory activities and monitor cycle count results.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and material variances.
KPI Reporting & Cost Improvement
• Support the development and maintenance of production and cost-related KPIs.
• Validate KPI data integrity and reporting accuracy.
• Partner with Engineering and Production teams to evaluate operational cost data.
• Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities related to scrap reduction, yield improvement, labor productivity, downtime, and other manufacturing efficiencies.
Financial Close & Audit Support
• Assist with month-end close activities and preparation of monthly financial reporting packages.
• Support fixed asset audits and account reconciliations.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requests and prepare supporting documentation.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance requirements.

Who We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 3+ years of financial analyst or accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing, budgeting, forecasting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Experience supporting audits, maintaining internal controls, and applying GAAP accounting standards.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, and financial data analysis.
• Experience working with ERP and reporting systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial results and insights to non-finance stakeholders.
• Fluent in English.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
What's Nice to Have
• Experience in a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to inventory management, physical inventory processes, and cycle count programs.
• Experience partnering directly with Operations, Engineering, and Production teams.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or cost productivity initiatives.
• CPA, CMA, or progress toward a professional accounting certification.
• Experience developing operational dashboards and KPI reporting tools.
