Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Serves as a finance business partner to the US Automation Division Manufacturing plant operations to ensure compliance with accounting, policies, procedures, requirements, and guidelines. Manages financial and accounting functions for the US Automation Manufacturing sites, ensures that accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles, and that internal policies and controls are followed. Owns the manufacturing financial planning and analysis and provided financial support for operational decision-making. This role will support five US Automation manufacturing locations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Lead accounting activities for manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, including general ledger ownership of the US Automation Plant P&Ls and balance sheet accounts, account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
  • Prepare and analyze material usage, cost statements, profit and loss statements, manufacturing statistics, labor analysis, and sales mix analysis.
  • Assist with developing and implementing internal control policy and procedures.
  • Train and support manufacturing staff in a variety of areas, including policies and procedures, system functionality and inventory costing and management.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to plan, execute, and monitor annual and cycle count inventory programs. Evaluate inventory accuracy, investigate significant variances, ensure timely resolution of discrepancies, and assess financial statement impacts.
  • Coordinate with the fixed asset accountant on fixed asset accounting and capital expenditures. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies related to fixed assets and lease accounting.
  • Lead decision making efforts and analysis around ERP implementations and best use practices.

Manufacturing FP&A

  • Prepare annual budget and monthly forecast for manufacturing operations for the US Automation division.
  • Participate in monthly financial performance reviews with the finance team representing manufacturing operations. Perform fluctuation analysis of actuals to forecast, budget and prior year.
  • Lead monthly meetings with US Automation plant managers to review financial performance.
  • Partner with plant leadership to analyze operational performance, including material, labor, overhead and freight productivity and cost variances.
  • Provide actionable insights on manufacturing costs, inventory and working capital.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational dashboards.
  • Support strategic initiatives, including footprint optimization, productivity programs and capital investments.
  • Lead risk and opportunity analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports and work on special projects as requested

Physical Demands
This role is primarily performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role. As part of the essential functions of this role, the individual will need to access a factory and be exposed to temperature changes. This may will result in being exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals/fumes and navigate around factory machines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Accountancy or Related Field required
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
  • 4+ Years Experience in accounting within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with SAP or other large ERP systems
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications


Additional Requirements

  • This role is primarily office-based but may require periodic access to manufacturing facilities, including exposure to standard factory conditions such as noise, temperate variation, machinery and other operational environments.
  • The role will physically be located between the MiTek corporate headquarters in Chesterfield, MO and the St. Charles, MO manufacturing site. The role has flexibility and it is anticipated a split between locations with offices in both.
  • 20% Plant visits (note two of the five facilities are located in St. Louis, MO)
