Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Reports to: Director of Manufacturing and Engineering
Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing product and plant engineering support for the daily routine operations by performing the following duties with a continuous improvement mindset and a desire to drive the evolution of product solutions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Upon completion of training, complete understanding of the UNEX product line
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
- Assess new part requests and change orders for manufacturability.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency and safety by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment.
- Prepare process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Research, develop and implement solutions for long term reliability with current machinery in the factory.
- Research, develop and implement new processes, equipment, and products.
- Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
- Define, manage, and maintain document control of drawings, and operating and safety manuals of manufacturing equipment
- Design and creation of components, concepts, solutions, ergonomic evaluations and drawings
- Design jigs and fixtures for more efficient manufacturing processes and quality checks
- Optimize work center flow and efficiency using lean methodology
Necessary Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering degree from a four-year college or university
- 5+ years related experience
- CAD/CAM software - SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Simulation software
- ERP/MRP software
- Understanding of robotics and system functionality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with / knowledge of Lean Methodology
- Experience with / knowledge of Six Sigma
- Project management experience
Physical Demands:
This role requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking, stooping and kneeling as well as the occasional need to move or lift objects up to 50 pounds.
