Position Description

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer leads complex initiatives to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes that improve productivity, quality, and cost performance. This role provides advanced technical expertise and drives cross-functional efforts to ensure scalable, reliable production operations. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer partners with design, operations, and quality leadership to support strategic manufacturing initiatives and new product introductions. This position serves as a subject-matter expert who mentors engineers and champions continuous improvement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise or multi-line manufacturing process development, optimization, and standardization initiatives.
  • Drive advanced continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies.
  • Support complex new product introductions by establishing manufacturing readiness, tooling, and process validation plans.
  • Analyze production data, identify systemic issues, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Design and optimize production layouts, material flow strategies, and automation integration.
  • Evaluate and justify capital equipment investments through cost-benefit and ROI analyses.
  • Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting critical production or process failures.
  • Establish standardized work, control plans, and process documentation across manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with quality, supply chain, and operations leadership to improve throughput and reliability.
  • Mentor Manufacturing Engineer I/II team members and guide best practices across projects.


Required Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or advanced production support roles.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex process improvement or manufacturing optimization initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing systems, production technologies, and industrial equipment.
  • Expertise in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, or process simulation software.
  • Experience supporting high-complexity new product introductions and design-for-manufacturability initiatives.
  • Proven ability to perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Strong business acumen with experience developing capital justifications and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or leading cross-functional project teams.
